Law enforcement gets out of control when they target a certain group. Specifically Mafia cases, although there are times when it is political. Mark Feuer, 60 years old, had no criminal record. He lived in a New York suburb and a
car dealership. He was just in front of a judge for sentencing because he helped a friend get an account with a bookmaker. That's it. Gerry (Scum) Capeci has mentioned him in columns. He had the FBI on him. He was on trail with Carmelo Polito (Who they also seem to be over doing it on) Polito did say he wanted to hurt a guy who would not pay him his money, but for that and bookmaking he will get 3 years. Mark Feuer is alongside him as a defendant, and threw a fit (According to Capici) I don't blame Mark Feuer. He was forced to plead guilty to 'Facilitating gambling." All he did was help set up an account with his bookie for friend, now he is on the governments Organized Crime list and going to prison for a few months. Polito, who once did time for a murder he was innocent of will get 3 years for gambling. Mark Feuer had no part in running the gambling. He helped friend put bets in, he now he goes to prison.

What crime? He made a bet, and when a friend asked if he could help him make some he did. You call that a crime?
Did you take the time to read what happened to him? He had no record, ran a business, and stayed out of trouble. The topic is Law enforcement overdoing it. Are you insane???? He was "Committing crimes"

That's usually the DA trying to look good, and there are few LE trying to get promoted fast.

Sure. Prosecutors use their offices as career stepping stones--judgeships, law firm partnerships, corporate boards. RICO was on the books for more than a decade, but prosecutors were reluctant to use it until Giuliani won the Commission case. Then they fell all over each other bringing RICO cases against every Mafioso who failed to pay a parking ticket. After that, they went after corporate bigshots--they rolled up the CEOs of Worldcomm, Adelphia, Enron, HealthSouth. A US Attorrney who wanted his day in the sun set his sights against a friend of mine who was CEO of a very big corporation in his turf. My friend happened to be Italian, from NYC, and brash--toxic to jurors in the US Attorney''s turf. Like shooting fish in a barrel. Sent him away for four years. mad

As for Giuliani , he made some deals as a prosecutor and as mayor that should have been looked at. For example he said he was doing it to get rid of mobsters, so he threw out a group of companies from the carting business and gave a large corporation the contract in their place. As soon as he stepped down from mayor, they hired him for millions of dollars per year.

Does anyone have thoughts on Feuer and what he has been put through? Over a year waiting for this, and now he may face time.

I wanted a serious response, not a comment from a jerk.

What about stating facts is being a jerk? The dude committed a crime and got charged for it. You disagreeing with the crime or your dislike for your precious mobsters being arrested and charged for the crimes they commit doesn't matter.

The crime was nothing, get real. You keep saying people are fans, admirers, and now "Precious mobsters" yet you can't answer a question seriously. By the way A-hole, if you read up on him he is NOT a mobster. You're a jerk, get help.

If no one wants to have a realistic discussion, shut the thread. Mafia 101 is just going to troll along.

BS. JCrusher, you lurk around waiting for people to disagree or argue with me, I pointed this out over a year ago. You have done it about 100 times anyone can check.
So now I have to jerks who have nothing of substance to say o the topic.

I don't think a man with no record at age 60 deserves what he wen tthrough, and what he did is a thing NO ONE gets prosecuted for 99% of the time. It's not justice.,

Jace what isn't serious about my answer? The guy committed a crime and is facing the consequences for that crime. It's not law enforcement overdoing it. Disagreeing with your mafia sympathy fest isn't being a troll. You've attacked anyone who's disagreed with you here so really you're the only one who can't have a serious conversation unless they have the same viewpoint as you.

Turnbull, This was Mafia 101 first response to my post:
" lolif you refrain from committing crimes you won't get caught up in criminal charges lol so weird being a mafia sympathizers."

He said something similar in his second post, no warning form you.

He starts off laughing at my question and calls me a weirdo Mafia sympathizer. I did not see any warning from you there. If Mafia 101 was serious why the laughing face emojis? JCrusher has done what I said. I did not flame them, I asked for a serious answer regarding Mark Feuer. You gave one, as did Giacamo Vicari. I only called out JCrusher for his trolling. Close this thread if you want. Since no one is weighing in I wasted my time posting it.

It's funny because it's ridiculous you're complaining about law enforcement arresting people who have committed a crime. You say they're getting out of control when really they're just doing their job. This isn't the first time you've voiced your displeasure of mobsters getting arrested and to me that makes you a mafia sympathizer. Again disagreeing with you isn't being a troll. Next time add in you only want opinions that agree with you so we avoid you getting upset.

Ive seen a lot !

Both LE & Mob & street guys … and for many many years at many levels .

Everyone is doing something just at different levels … and from what I have seen all groups do whatever they have to and yes even the first year rookie gets compromised at something .

I know 1% don’t …. NOT the other way around …

No, they are selectively targeting people for so-called crimes, I bet many cops and prosectors have put a bet in for a person. This guy just helped a friend make bets, no one gets in trouble for that, nor should they. The only other case where I heard of this was Angelo Lutz, who got 2 years for putting in a bet for a friend, Do you want everyone did this arrested? They leave almost everyone alone, this man was singled out and they over did it by a mile.

LC330, he did not do a favor for a mafia figure, he helped a friend place a bet. There is no mention of th refrained being a mafia figure, the bookie is said to be one. If you help a friend place a bet you shook not be put through the wringer like he was. Now he may have to go to prison. I have to keep repeating it, so I will. He had no record, had no mob affiliation other than being a gambler.

Hey Turnbull! Always enjoyed discussions with you in the Godfather thread. I’m fine with disagreeing with a point in fact it makes for better discussion as long as it’s civil.

In other words he committed a crime and is now being punished. It's how it works. If he's adamant he didn't commit a crime and is in fact being framed he could've went to trial and fought the charges but of course he didn't.

. Absolutely the way it should be. If you do the crime you have to do the time. If you’re paroled fine hopefully you change your life for the better

The system is set up for the defendant in the US, better 10 guilty men go free than 1 innocent gets locked up. It's pretty easy to beat a rap or get a plea deal, so if you're going to do serious time it's because they pretty much have you by the balls. Either because you're hot, and they've been watching you, or someone ratted you out.
