A somewhat popular nickname were variations of “Buck.” So here’s the question; The seven hoods listed below were connected to various mob factions in states throughout the country. Match the letter of each nickname with the number of the corresponding state they affiliated with. For instance, you could say, A-7, or C-2

Have at it fellas. Let’s see how well you know you’re mobsters and their nicknames.

A) Buck Jones
B) Davy Buck
C) Bucky
D) Nicky Buck
E) Bucky
F) Buck
G) Bucky Jones

1) New York (I incorrectly had this as Illinois. There are actually 2 NY and 3 IL)
2) New York
3) Colorado
4) Illinois
5) Illinois
6) Pennsylvania
7) Illinois

There was Bucky Ortenzi in Chicago. He became a capo for Aiuppa's crew when the latter one became boss.

A-2 (Vito Domiano, not sure if he was a Buffalo member)

F-3 (Colorado figure "Dave Bucambuso", can't find him on FamilySearch but there is a private Ancestry tree for a David Bucambuso born in Utah)

I incorrectly listed 4 as being from IL and only 1 as NY. Actually, there were supposed to be 3 from IL and 2 from NY. So my apologies fellas. I made the corrections so check the quiz above to see them.

Also, kudos to both TD and JoePuzzles for 3 correct answers. Now let's see who else can name the other 4 guys listed.

JP, these two picks are also both correct. We've got four to go!

Who else wants to test their knowledge of mobsters and their nicknames and areas of operation?

Bingo! Give that man a cigar!

Now we're down to three open picks, from the original seven.

Here are the correct answers to our little quiz.

Toodoped, JoePuzzles234 and Malavita nailed the 4 below.

Vito (Buck Jones) Domiano, Buffalo
David (Davy Buck) Buccambuso, Colorado
Anthony (Bucky) Ortenzi, Chicago
Nicholas (Nicky Buck) Piccolo, Philadelphia
-
Here are the other three correct answers.

Stephen (Bucky Jones) Casertano, New York
Pasquale (Bucky) Clementi, Chicago
Patrick (Buck) Russo, Chicago

Yeah 100%, one of Clementi's nicknames was "Bucky", although I mainly know him as "Patsy". In fact, Clementi was one of the biggest money makers during the old days and its quite strange that he never became a capo (maybe because of the dope trade?!). I also think that first he answered to the large Willie Daddano/Daddono regime and was later absorbed by the Buccieri crew, after the dismantle of old Daddono group. Good job NYM.
