The cartels do it daily, on a wholesale scale! There are people out there I hate pretty bad, not gonna lie. The people who did these things though are capable of doing it to people they never even met, that's a whole other level.

Doesn't the cartels put babies in microwaves or some shit? They definitely beat the mob and every other group in brutality and depravity.

A lot has to do with the motive for killing the victim. If it's a vendetta, all bets are off and anything can happen. Rats and people who have killed your friends or your family are fair game, especially. Dismemberment, acid baths ( a la the Carneglia bros.), cement overcoats, furnaces ( Vincent Squillante) are to ensure no body is discovered, no body, no crime was Roy DeMeo's motto. Torture is a different ballgame and is inherently sadistic, I think that is a classic indicator of a serial killer. I think the only people tortured by the DeMeo Crew were Andrei Katz and Mike DeCarlo (Mikey Muscles the pedophile). As far as any info I'm putting out there about the DeMeo Crew, it is no farther than 4 persons removed from the actual incident. Freddy DiNome tells Det. Frank Pergola who tells Quentin Walker who tells me and I tell you. Or, in some instances I've gotten it from Pete LaFroscia and I tell you.

Agree. If a guy harmed your personal family or committed some atrocious act against you...then I think anything is possible based on the level of hatred you may have for this guy.

General hits are, or should be, different. Hit em, drop em, and go home!

But, sadistic killings and depraved stuff is in a category ALL its own. lol...as well it should be. The guys who commit these types of murders are sickies themselves.

Back in the old days most of the sadistic murders represented a warning for the rest of the membership. I dont think that Giancana cared much regarding the truth on whether Jackson was an informant or not, but instead he stumbled upon a chance to make an example of one of their associates so the rest of the members can follow orders, obviously under the threat of a brutal death. I also think there was a rumor that Giancana allegedly passed some pics from the brutal murder to some of his associates but Im not still able to confirm that story.

Yes Giancana was sadistic. Actually, Chicago period was one of the most depraved Mafia families in America.

Thats right. As for Giancana, he was both sadist and rapist, same as Mad Sam or Cerone. I mean, what do you expect from a guy like Nicoletti who killed his own father, when Chuck was just a small kid?! He obviously had no problem eating Italian food while watching one of his victim's eye popping out.

St. Valentine's Day massacre was really brutal. The shooters didn't even check to see if Bugs Moran was in that lineup---they just shotgunned and machinegunned everyone in the garage, including a civilian. That was the beginning of the end for Capone.

Every guy that was murdered in the 70s ended up having their throat cut from ear to ear and strangled for the most part. Also remember they did far worse than that many times. Chicago's killers were psychotic.

It's sad that a civilian got hit, but even though they didn't get Bugs Moran, from my understanding they got his gang and clipped his wings, so to speak.

They managed to eliminate both of Moran's close associates the Gusenberg brothers, Frank and Pete, a situation which signaled the end of the old O'Banion-Moran gang. The massacre received huge media and government attention because Capone's name came up and also because it occurred in the second largest city at the time. Before that or previously, there was allegedly another same type of massacre by using cop cars and uniforms but that one occurred in Indiana and didnt receive much publicity, not until the one in Chicago.

....also, dont forget the brutal tortures and murders that occurred in Chicago during the 1950s regarding the Bolita racket. All Latino operators were shaking in their boots at the time.

....and the 1943 brutal murder of Estelle Carey. She was the girlfriend of Outfit member Nick Circella who in turn was indicted together with Ricca and the rest of the bosses in the infamous Hollywood extortion case. Story goes that Circella was allegedly ready to talk or was blamed for bringing some of the rats, and so her murder was a message for him.

The killers first started to stab the woman with an ice pick several times and later they broke her jaw, cut her with a knife and also burned her with an electric iron. In the end they poured flammable liquid on her legs and set them on fire. The poor girl's heart immediately stopped from the pain and so she finally died.

A burglary crew broke into Tony Accardo's River Forest Mansion on January 6, 1978. Here is a timeline of what happened afterwards.

January 15, 1978 – Outfit burglar John Mendell disappears 11 days after leading a break-in of Accardo’s house as payback for Accardo ordering Mendell and his crew to return a giant score from the robbery of a jewelry store they had pulled off in the days before Christmas 1977. The owner of the jewelry store was a friend of Accardo’s and requested the Big Tuna’s aid in retrieving the stolen merchandise. Mendell’s body wasn’t found until February 20, discovered in the trunk of his car on a southside street corner, naked, hogtied, stabbed and strangled to death.

January 20, 1978 – Outfit burglar Bernard (Buddy) Ryan, second-in-command in the Mendell burglary ring, is found behind the wheel of his Lincoln Continental sitting on the side of a west-suburban street with four bullets lodged in the back of his head and his throat slit.

February 2, 1978 – Outfit burglar Stevie Garcia, Ryan’s right-hand man, is found slain in the trunk of his car in a Sheraton Hotel parking lot by O’Hare Airport, stabbed to death with his throat slit.

February 4, 1978 – Outfit burglar and fence Vince Moretti and his buddy Don Renno are beaten to death, their throats slashed, in a Cicero bar in what became known in Chicago mob circles as the “Strangers in the Night Murders,” due to the fact that the song was playing on the bar’s jukebox as Moretti and Renno were being killed. Moretti was an ex-cop and seen wearing Accardo’s monogramed gold, diamond-encrusted cuff links around town in the days after the high-profile heist. While Moretti was a high-ranking member of Mendell’s crew, Renno, a small-time crook, wasn’t and just happened to be with Moretti when he was summoned to be clipped.

April 6, 1978 – Outfit burglar Robert (Bobby Toggs) Hertogs is found in the trunk of his car in a grocery store parking lot on Grand Avenue, shot in the back of the head and his throat slashed. Hertogs was connected to the Mendell crew and had fallen behind on a juice loan.

April 14, 1978 – Outfit burglar Johnny McDonald, the final Mendell crew member to get bumped off, is found lying dead in a westside alley, shot in the back of the head and his throat cut. McDonald allegedly was forced to set Buddy Ryan up to be killed.

October 5, 1978 – The Accardo residence’s Sicilian caretaker Michael Volpe vanishes on his way to work in the days after testifying too candidly in front of a federal grand jury investigating the string of slayings linked to the break-in.

May 22, 1979 – Outfit lieutenant and hit man Anthony (Little Tony) Borselino is found in a Will County cornfield shot in the back of the head. Borselino was part of the infamous Wild Bunch, a westside troop of assassins dispatched on the Chicago mob’s most pressing murder assignments, and suspected in taking part in a number of the slayings tied to the fallout from the break-in.

September 18, 1979 – Outfit lieutenant and hit man Gerald (Jerry the Dinger) Carusiello is shot in the back of the head and left on the concrete an in Addison, Illinois apartment complex parking lot. Carusiello was a driver and bodyguard for Accardo’s acting boss Joseph (Joey Doves) Aiuppa and suspected in at least one of the fallout slayings.

.

Vince Moretti was the twin brother of Salvatore Moretti and they both worked as Melrose Park detectives during the 1950s. Sometimes if Giancana had a problem with someone, he called for William Daddono who in turn called Salvatore Moretti to take care of the problem. Even though Moretti was sometimes direct with Giancana, still he was placed to work under Daddano. Since Moretti was fired from the park police force in 1952, later he worked as a "bird dog" in selling autos, meaning he worked as a broker who puts buyers in touch with auto dealers and collects a commission but his “second job” was being Outfit enforcer.

One of their brothers Michael Moretti was so notorious that one night, with no particular reason, he shot three people (they were six children). In March 1957, Daddono received an order from Giancana to find Salvatore Moretti and to give him the “murder contract” on one banker and land developer known as Leon Marcus, but when Moretti eliminated his target, he forgot to check the victim's pockets for any implicating records, such as the name of the boss himself, Sam Giancana. And that’s what happened. When the cops found some small papers with Giancana’s name on it, Moretti’s fate was sealed. On April 12, 1957, Salvatore Moretti’s strangled and bullet riddled body was found in a car trunk on a country road south of Plainfield, Will County.

So his brother Vince orchastrated the burglary on Accardos home almost two decades later as some type of revenge for the murder of his twin brother. Story goes that Vince had enough from the Outfit and Accardo taking their stolen goods and returning it to its owner, was the last straw.

My mother was childhood friends with one of Borselinos daughters. She didnt know he was connected until after he got whacked. He never brought his business into his home. She did admit though that he always dressed well and took care of himself, but just thought he was your normal everyday businessman. They lived in a modest home in the neighborhood located in Lombard.

If my memory serves me right, Borsellino was killed by Scarpelli and I think they were both members of Cicero's Wild Bunch...

Blowing up Falcone in Italy like that was pretty brutal, but the Castellano killing of 2 Gambino heavyweights 2 weeks before Christmas at rush hour in manhattan was crazy brutal also.

LOL.

In Calabria Francesco Raccosta was beaten with iron bars before being thrown screaming into a sty where he was swiftly eaten by hungry pigs. His horrifying death was the latest bloody instalment in a 60-year feud between warring members of an Italian crime syndicate, detectives say.29 nov 2013

How about the Mad Sam DeStafano victim who he tortured for 3 days by burning, electrocuting, cutting, beating and so forth? He invited the guys family to dinner when he was done with him, and after they were done eating, he served the guy up for dessert by bringing the guy out. Forced his entire family to piss on him among other things which I don't think we need to get into too much detail.

If they ever made a movie on this guy back in the day, Anthony Hopkins would have been the perfect choice to play the role.

By the way, I wonder if Mad Sam enjoyed a nice bottle of chianti when he took pleasure in this.
