I've been listening to several songs.

Come Together
Love Me Do
I'n Only Sleeping
From Me to You
Penny Lane
Hey Jude

I would like to listen to more, I know my BB buddies would be more then happy to post some recommendations.

There is a CD entitled "1". It contains all the Beatle songs that made it to number 1 on the chart. There are over 20 songs. That would give you the most popular of the Beatles tunes. Some you mention are on the CD.

You're on safe ground with practically anything by the Fab Four.

But their work took a decided turn from a more "Pop" sound to a more serious and, I think, "musically advanced" sound beginning with their "Rubber Soul" album, and continuing through "Revolver" and "Sergeant Pepper".

Two more career highlights a bit later on were "The White Album" and "Abbey Road".

But, as I say, you can't go wrong with any Beatle music.

I really didn't intend for their hits. I go for what people think are their best, lyrically and musically.

TRUE OR FALSE: Ringo Starr is the only member of the Beatles to have NOT won a Grammy for their individual solo work after the band broke up?

Vercetti, if you are not looking for the huge hits on the 1 album, being a hardcore Beatle fan, let me suggest a few.

A Hard Days Night
-And I Love Her
-I Should Have Known Better
-Things We Said Today
-I'll Be Back Again

Abbey Road
-Maxwell's Silver Hammer
-Octopus's Garden(one of only 2 Ringo compositions)
-Here Here Comes the Sun
-Because
-You Never Give Me Your Money
-Polythene Pam
-She Came in Through the Bathroom Window
-Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight(One of my fav's)

-Free As A Bird and Real Love(the Lennon tapes with added remaining Beatles musical contributions)

Beatles For Sale
-Rock and Roll Music
-No Reply
-I'll Follow the Sun

Help
-You've Got to Hide Your Love Away
-I Need You
-Another Girl
-Ticket to Ride
-Act Naturally
-You Like Me Too Much
-It's Only Love
-I've Just Seen A Face

Let It Be
-Two of Us
-Across the Universe(Another fav)
-Don't Let Me Down

Magical Mystery Tour
-The Fool on the Hill
-Your Mother Should Know
-I Am The Walrus
-Strawberry Fields Forever

Please Please Me
-I Saw Her Standing There
-A Taste of Honey
-Do You Want to Know A Secret

Revolver
-Taxman
-I'm Only Sleeping
-Here, There and Everywhere(Their best love song)
-She Said She Said
-And Your Bird Has Flown
-For No One
-Tomorrow Never Knows(GREAT!)

Rubber Soul
-Norwegian Wood
-Nowhere man
-Think for Yourself
-Michelle
-In My Life(Another Fav)
-If I Needed Someone
-Run for Your Life

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
-Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
-With A Little Help From My Friends
-Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds
-Fixing a Hole
-She's Leaving Home
-Being for the Benifit of Mr. Kite(Another fav)

White Album
-Back in the USSR

-Glass Onion
-Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
-Continuing Story of Bungalo Bill
-While My Guitar Gently Weeps(Possibly George's Best)
-Happiness is a Warm Gun
-Martha My Dear(its about about Paul's dog)
-Blackbird(about black civil rights)
-Piggies
-Don't Pass Me By(Ringo's other song)
-Rockey Raccon
-I Will
-Julia
-Mother Nature's Son
-Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey
-Sexy Sadie
-Helter Skelter(Spoke to Charles Manson, See if it speaks to you)
-Revolution
-Honey Pie(not to be confused with Wild Honey Pie or Honey Don't, both are good but not on this list)
-Savory Truffle
-Revolution #9(Give it a listen in the dark, it's freaky.)
-Goodnight

With The Beatles
-It Won't Be Long
-All My Loving(best pre-Revolver song IMO)
-Til There Was You
-Roll Over Beethoven(Better than the original)
-I Wanna Be Your Man
-Devil in Her Heart

Yellow Submarine
-Hey Bulldog
-It's All Too Much
-Only a Northern Song

As you can tell I absolutely lose it when sombody mentions the Beatles. Most of these are some of their more famous-yet slightly less known to somebody wo doesnt know them, songs. Try them all, but give the post-Rubber Soul albums a better listen (Rubber Soul is great too).

THE BEATLES ARE GREAT!

Enjoy Vercetti, I've been listening to these guys my whole life and after hearing everything else, nothing compares.

Across the Universe is my favorite Beatles song. Others: For No One, Drive My Car, Strawberry Fields Forever, Magical Mystery Tour, I Am the Walrus, In My Life, Michelle, Taxman, Here Comes the Sun, Revolution (& Revolution 1 and Revolution 9), While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Happiness is a Warm Gun, Norweigan Wood, Yesterday, A Day in the Life, Rocky Racoon, and most of the famous ones.

Hope that helps!

Well Ringo won for "The Concert for Bangladesh" in '73. John won in '81 for Double Fantasy and has 7 others. Paul has 13 of them. George has 11.

So FALSE, Ringo did get a grammy and it was solo work.

Ringo is the only one though to not be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame(as a solo artist), George was just inducted this year. Ringo's only big hit though was "It Don't Come Easy", so....

A Posthumous grammy is a grammy none the less, where did you read that fact? It makes no sense. Many artists recieve Posthumous awards.

My math exam is tomorrow, I am taking a break from studying. This weekend I go home and will post more. It was a Beatles thread, how could I resist?? :p

Not a very good compilation though, in my eyes. If you want a "greatest hits," I'd recommend the Red Album and the Blue Album, which, respectively, both have about 22-24 songs on each double-album that covers all of the #1's and other hits not on there, like "I Am The Walrus," "A Day In The Life," "In My Life," etc.

However, clearly buying all the albums, whilst not the most affordable, is the best option. There is not one bad Beatles song (except for Revolution #9 :p ).

I didn't put any of the Beatles #1. This topic was started by Vercetti to find songs other than the famous ones. I love Yesterday, and Let It Be, and Hey Jude, and The Long and Winding Road, and blah blah blah...ect. I made the list so he could se some of the songs the Beatles are less known for.

Strawberry Fields Forever is my favorite Beatles song, although all of them are awesome.

There are so many great Beatle songs, that it'd probably be easier to choose the ones I don't like. In no particular Order. (* My very favorites.

Off the top of my head:

Norweigian Wood
Day In The Life*
Eleanor Rigby*
I Love Her
Yesterday
Ob La Di Ob La Da
Rocky Racoon
Helter Skelter*
Come Together
Maxwell's Silver Hammer
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Revolution (Not #9..like Mary Cas, I don't care for it)

DJ, "Little Piggies" is not about Charles Manson, however he was supposedly getting some kind of "signals" in the White Album from the Beatles. I believe the "little piggies" referred to all the rich celebrities. Ever see the movie? That album is played throughout. He was addicted to it. Sicko!!!

I know it's no laughing matter, but the visual of Manson running to his followers with the White Album yelling "The Beatles are calling on us to attack!" is quite a funny image. :p

That guy is the epitome of "creepy". The Prosecuting attorney in the Manson case, Vincent Buligiosi insists that Manson is not crazy. Damn, everytime I see him, he makes me cringe.

I wonder why that album, of all things, struck him???

"Helter Skelter" to anyone who doesn't know what it is can be a very weird name, and Manson was able to use it as a "calling of the apocalyptic war" :p

What the Manson girls weren't told is that "Helter Skelter" is a ride in a British amusement park to my knowledge. :p

Manson once said to an interviewer, "Your lucky I'm in jail here. I could kill you. I could kill anybody in the world. I probably should have killed about 500 more people."

The guy is a nut. He's lost his damn mind. The Beatles have different messages to everyone. Paul once said, people read into our lyrics far too much. All of those things you hear are bizarre theories these people come up with. We were just writing about love and stuff." Some people took the messages too far, like Manson. I think Paul was just being modest with his comment. They knew what they were doing. Especially with the Paul is Dead clues. I think they loved the "hub-bub" they created. Haha, good for them.
