i know right, another montreal mafia thread. however some on here have asked over time to see a more detailed list of those murdered and motives why and alleged hitmen or groups behind all this mayhem. so it is always appreciated to have comments and thoughts or corrections, what i wouldnt want this to devolve into is a thread where any hits taking place in ontario or toronto are mentioned. i say this only because there is no great overall canadian mafia war taking place between these 2 provinces. NOT EVERY HIT IN CANADA IS RELATED TO EACH OTHER!!! there has been a tendency online to lump all these together making the lists long but consisting of murders and attempts that again have nothing to do with the wars in montreal. from years of combing the web, reading every mtl mafia book i can find (in english) and using my own strange brain deductions this is what i have come up with. also i will try to break these down into separate timelines as to show periods where violence was more prominent and when not as much. last i will only post murders, as grim as that is, not attempts or shootings. there is a big difference between pot shotting at someone to send a message and a well orchestrated planned out hit. i acknowledge that not all those who were wounded was on purpose and some attempts are not always succesful, however to limit size and scope will show murders only.

will post first part of list later this afternoon or evening starting with murder of giovanni bertolo and subsequent timeline involved.

intro: this will be the first post about beginnings of the montreal mafia war. however this timeline is not the start of all the murder mayhem that i would consider the 1st actual war. this period (2004-2006) will cover the time from just after VITO RIZZUTOS arrest jan.20 2004 up until the nov.22 2006 proj colisee mass arrests. although om many lists these first few murders are lumped in as the beginning as well as a litany of kidnappings and attempts i will try to only show those murders that can be truly linked to the outbreak of hostilities.

(jan.20 2004-nov.22 2006)

giovanni bertolo
murdered= aug.11 2005
allied w/= raynald desjardins
ordered by= rizzuto crime family (RCF), francesco arcadi
committed by= some dispute here as to be expected. some rumour has domenico macri and 2 other shooters doing the hit. another theort was that it was committed by "colombians"?? either way there is no dispute that it was ordered by leadership of RCF.
motive= bertolo had recently been released from jail after serving time for a cocaine conspiracy plot and began to move back into his old territory to continue criminal operations. by this time arcadi et al had installed someone else to manage drug territory and bertolo was told to lay off. bertolo continued sales and did not heed RCF leaderships warnings and as best evidence indicates for refusing this he was murdered. bertolo was a close associate of raynald desjardins and is rumored to have mentored a young vittorio mirarchi allegedly. this murder was one that desjardins never forget and used as an impetus to later begin his revenge.

richard griffin
murdered=july.12 2006
allied w/ west end gang and partnered on cocaine imports with giuseppe devito.
ordered by= RCF
committed by=?
motive= griffin had been a long time member of a cell of the WEG and had by this time been involved in cocaine imports with an import cell working under francesco arcadi. this cell included franco pellegrino, pietro d'adamo and others. a failed import of 300kg and subsequent loss of $2million is the likely reason behind his murder. there was also some odd business with an associate of griffins frank faustini about gambling debts being repaid. the RCF wanted there money first from faustini and griffin and wanted it fast. when griffin could not come up with cash or possibly refused to deliver it he was murdered. the inability of RCF leadership to give more time and then go ahead with murder angered giuseppe devito someone who had been dealing with griffin on cocaine imports for a while. devito's revenge did not immediately begin after this but he would add it to the list of reasons why he hated the RCF leaders.

domenico macri
murdered= aug.30 2006
allied w/ RCF, francesco arcadi
ordered by= raynald desjardins
committed by=?
motive= the possibility exists that macri was one of the shooters of giovanni bertolo, although this has not been proven. i will note here when i say "ordered by" this is my best guess from evidence acquired. macri worked under both francesco arcadi and del balso and i have found some references to macri being arcadis nephew. any and all evidence puts macri directly allied with RCF. the murder took place on same street as arcadi and macri was being driven to pickup arcadi, so possible shooters jumped the gun and opened fire assuming arcadi was already in suv. this murder just 2 weeks after the extradition of V.R. u.s. was the first overt attack on the RCF. shortly after this heat street boss arcadi went on an extended trip to europe with his wife.

notes: i realize there were many more murders in this time period but as you look back on this time which of them can we really tie to an actual war or beginning of a war. this time period is also important because it reflects what i think is the last vestiges of an organized top to bottom structured mafia family existing in montreal. feel free to re open that old debate on other thread if you choose. also V.R. was still in canada at this time up until aug 2006 and could easily have continued to conduct business from prison. there was no certainty that V.R. would be extradited so even at this time those with designs on taking over could not set the wheels inmotion without first knowing for sure that VITO was out of country. we all know VITOS prophetic words about everything going to hell with him off the streets and although they did eventually it really didnt begin right away.

best to give some time for remarks, criticism, help etc on this section before moving onto the next. will be in order this is not a marvel movie franchise i will not bounce around into several multi verses.

next will be (nov.23 2006-oct.15 2008) time period.

What do you think is the truth behind the 2004 murder of Paolo Gervasi? Some say that he was killed after a dispute with the Rizzuto Clan after inquiring too much about the 2000 murder of his son Salvatore Gervasi. After his murder, it's said that this caused Giuseppe DeVito to turn on the Rizzutos. However, other sources say that DeVito was the triggerman, which would mean that he would have no reason to be upset with the Rizzutos over Paolo Gervasi's murder.

i think the gervasi murder has several reasons. paolo had continued to inquire about who was responsible for the murder of his son salvatore in 2000 that is true. there were some amongst the leadership of the RCF at the time, including V.R. that owed him large sums of money. paolo gervasi it is alleged was the original holder of "the book". said book holds the names and amounts of debts related to loan sharking and gambling. as it turns out upon paolos murder control of the book passed into the hands of lorenzo giordano. according to la source (scoppa book) there were 2 previous attempts on paolo, one took place aug. 14 200 where he was wounded, the shooter being domenico macri. the other was in feb 2002 when a bomb was found under his jeep. so paolo was living on borrowed time for awhile it seems for a variety of reasons. his 2004 murder has also long been viewed as a potential start of the first mtl war but i dont think this is the case for reasons discussed above. there is even an inclination to lump in carmelo tommasinos death as well, as if it were a tit for tat. this of course has been proven to be untrue. tommasino was part of the hit team led by giuseppe devito to take out gervasi. tommasino was accidentally shot while completing the hit and not wanting to be left at hospital, allegedly asked to be shot, which devito did.

i would say also that this hit shows, considering who was involved in carrying it out that the RCF was a fully functioning family at this time. giuseppe devito was asked to take out the man who he worked under and did so without problem, well aside from carmelo being shot. if devito had a problem with this hit or waffled and or refused we do not know but there is no evidence suggesting this.

I think it was due to him asking about his son's murder. If I'm not mistaken, didn't Rizzuto kill Salvatore Gervasi as a favor to the Hells Angels? Something to do with Salvatore Gervasi's continuing to sell the Rock Machine's product during a war between them and the HA.

indeed the reason for salvatores murder. he continued to work with some fp's in rock machine dealing drugs. salvatore was told to cease this as the RCF and HA nomads were trying to form an alliance at this time to control all drug trafficking in all of montreal. salvatore did not and for this he was murdered. paolo his father would not let up in trying to find out who committed the hit and for this and likely other reasons he was murdered in 2004.

(nov. 23 2006-oct.15 2008)
-this period covers time after proj. colisee mass arrests and eventual release of nick rizzuto sr. i do not think that any war had begun at this point either. i can find no ggod evidence that any of the murders in this time have anything to do with an overall coup or attack on the RCF leadership. there was 3 murders that get mentioned alot for 2007. carmine guarino, ezechielle debellis and francesco velenosi all were taken out in 2007, but unless i've missed something none of these 3 have strong connections to the mtl mafia. guarino although likely italian was not even an associate of mtl mafia at this time. more than likely part of an independent network exporting cannabis along with his brother daniel (arrested as part of proj. cancun). noone has ever been arrested for guarinos murder, no motive has ever been given or as to who or which side guarino was allied with. for these reasons alone i dont think we can lump guarinos murder into an overall war. the same can be said for both debellis and velenosi. unless there is a better explanation out there i dont think this timeline is where we can find the beginning of the FIRST MONTREAL MAFIA WAR.

Carmine Guarino has been described by some as having ties to the Sicilians.

Ezechielle De Bellis has been described as an enforcer for the Montreal Mafia and attended Domenico Macri's funeral. Not saying that their murders had anything to do with them, but they did at least have ties.

all true liggio all true about guarino but that term 'sicilians' is such a lunch box word. was guarino with the RCF, caruana-cuntrera or in a crew led by a sicilian? i realize the 'ties to sicilians' is not your sentence it has oft been repeated in books and online media. guarino was a drug dealer and his murder could be as easily explained in that context. there is no evidence that guarino was a leader of a crew or cell and the trail of who he worked with or for is as dead as him. i would put his as well as debellis and velenosi in a category of murders of opportunity not as part of a wider plan to takeover control of mtl and weaken the RCF leadership.

i dont consider this time period as a beginning of the first mtl mafia war anyway as stated previously above. the RCF leadership although imprisoned post nov 2006 was still in charge. all 4 top leaders were imprisoned in and around mtl making it easier to communicate to the outside members. nick sr. was alleged to be under protection from one mario brouillette at this time a high ranking full patch HA member, that isnt nothing. also there is good evidence that members/associates were working together across the spectrum of crimes at this time. the RCF was in no way as divided into factions at this point as it soon would be come post 2009. lastly the desjardins led alliance that would eventually try to obtain overall control has proven to be smart and able to bide there time until the moment was right begin there attack.

now we get to crux of the biscuit, the waka jawaka, the big swifty (god i love frank zappa). the beginning of the 1st montreal mafia war.

(oct.16 2008-nov.10 2010)
-this period covers the timeline of nick sr.'s release from all proj. colisee charges and his eventual murder. in between all the big hits that effectively decapitated the once unified ruling rizzuto crime family. by this point there can be no doubt the family had become divided into 2 factions. the RIZZUTO FACTION (R.F.) and what i will call the DESJARDINS-DIMAULO-DEVITO FACTION (d-d-d from now on). this d-d-d faction were they original instigators of the 1st war and though there first strike did not take place until early 2009 all leaders of this faction had been out on street for the entirety of time nov 2006 on, including devito while being wanted by police. also giuseppe devitos influence did not stop upon his oct 2010 arrest.

mario marabella
murdered=dec.4 2008
allied w/ here lies a dispute about where marabellas loyalty lay. some have said he was connected to agostino cuntrera and was his 'right hand man.' there is little to no evidence of this and may have been invented to push a narrative of more rizzuto allies, i dont know. better evidence may show marabella being closer allied with giuseppe colapelle. marabella had also pulled some robbery jobs with devito back in the 90's. needless to say i wont say where he lies in all this. most reports have him owing a large amount of money to the RCF from gambling debts related to a illegal casino operation from the time of proj. colisee. this casino was allegedly being controlled by nick jr. with nicola dimarco and colapelle holding an interest as well as giuseppe sollecito. so it looks like marabellas murder may fall into that murder of opportunity category. he may have been taken out for the debts he owed or was kidnapped and forced to give up the i think $150 000 to rivals.

sam fasulo
murdered=jan.16 2009
allied w/ R.F.,alleged also to be a relative of francesco arcadi.
ordered by=?,possible D-D-D, red aligned street gangs.
committed by=?
motive= street level member with territory in mtl east operating a drug network. this same area of territory was also in control of giuseppe devito at this time. same area was also being moved on by red street gangs making it a contested area with fasulo the weaker of the 3 at this time. if fasulo was also a relative of arcadi as some evidence suggests this may have made his murder a first test on the new leadership of R.F.

federico del peschio
murdered= aug. 21 2009
allied w/ R.F., nick sr.
ordered by= tony magi
committed by= ducarme joseph
motive= a $1.5 million debt to magi. magi not wanting to pay debt contracted joseph to do the deed. del peschio was long an associate reporting to nick sr. making this hit dual purpose.

nick rizzuto jr.
murdered= dec. 29 2009
allied w/ R.F., reporting direct to nick sr. and agostino cuntrera.
ordered by= tony magi
committed by= ducarme joseph
motive= again possibly related to a debt magi owed nick jr. or a falling out over investment in one of there many real estate ventures. also i do not believe magi had the balls to put all this in motion. magi had dealings with desjardins as well in the construction/real estate industry the 2 were not strangers. so although no evidence suggests desjardins or anyone from the D-D-D actually approved said hit, none of them lifted a finger to stop it.

peter christopoulos and jean gaston (in subsequent attempt on ducarme joseph)
murdered= mar. 18 2010
allied w/ ducarme joseph at least christopoulos who has been described as his bodyguard. as far as gaston he is only mentioned as the manager of the store where shooting took place and josephs uncle.
orderd by= R.F. outside possibility exists this was related to feuds amongst street gangs, but coming as it does fairly close to nick jr. hit i have my doubts.
committed by= ?
motive= retaliation for murder of nick jr.

paolo renda
murdered= may. 20 2010
allied w/ R.F., nick sr.
orderd by= D-D-D
committed by= ? some evidence suggests devito himself participated in this hit.
motive= renda just months released from proj. colisee charges was likely seen as potential leader along with nick sr. and agostino cuntrera for the R.F. renda also was known as the money man for the RCF but more importantly the close circle of rizzuto related families.

agostino cuntrera and liborio sciascia
murdered= june. 29 2010
allied w/ R.F.
ordered by= D-D-D
committed by= giuseppe devito
motive= after release of nick sr. cuntrera was the street boss or #2 of this faction. sciascia was his bodyguard. cuntrera would have reported to nobody else but nick sr. and had been doing so for a long time.
note: this hit is revealing because at no time after and certainly not before was there a murder of or attempt on any person with the last name caruana or cuntrera in montreal. i can find no proof that any of there many businesses were torched or shot at. same can be said for houses or cars. i take this as very good evidence that despite ongoing claims of a still existent caruana-cuntrera family in montreal if that was the case why no further attacks? i know the caruana-cuntrera were not violent members of the mafia, but agostino it is claimed was a leader in the caruana-cuntrera as well. and no counter attacks after by them which makes sense because from what info i can find they have mostly all been imprisoned or there children operate seemingly legit businesses.

ennio bruni
murdered= sept. 29 2010
allied w/ R.F.
ordered by= D-D-D
committed by= ?
motive= one of the last remaining loyal members of the R.F. operating illegal gambling out of laval area. likely ordered to start paying tax to D-D-D or an allied member and upon declining of this was murdered. bruni also had an attempt made on his life nov.24 2009.

nick rizzuto sr.
murdered= nov.10 2010
allied w R.F.,
ordered by= D-D-D
committed by= ? many theories here but nothing confirmed. in the scoppa book as of 2019 he claimed that the shooter was still alive. that would rule out salvatore calautti and giuseppe devito if true. media and books quickly placed blame on unknown 'ndrangheta members from toronto pushing that sicilian v. calabrian narrative. as we know now the decimation of the R.F. was being led solely from montreal. at time of murder nick sr. was the #1 leader of this faction.

there we go sorry about the wait liggio, been another messed up week for the old body and brain, hope some of this was what you were looking for.

Vito with regards to there not being any attacks from the Cuntrera-Caruana clan or what not, we can't be so sure that there never will be. The mob has a long memory and can be very patient. I've heard of revenge killings taking place many years later. Not saying you're wrong in this case, I'm just speaking in general. But if DeVito and many others are already dead, there's no reason for revenge, I suppose.

about the caruana-cuntrera comment it was more related to period of time around agostinos murder and stretching up to VITO'S death i guess. it was also related to a question on another thread about the C-C family as well. i am of the belief that the C-C went quasi legit after the proj. omerta arrests across qc and ontario. there presence criminally just vanished. i have always found that odd. the C-C were massive importers of drugs into this country for a time and very involved in money laundering. they were not a super violent group. there does still exist many members of the family operating a large list of companies in qc and ontario. but man to try to track and follow who is related to whom with all the similar names is beyond daunting...which i have long thought is the point. now this is just a theory, none of them have even been arrested for jay walking in canada since 2000.

i do plan to continue this journey through the milieu. will pick it up with a seemingly stable alliance between the D-D-D+MONTAGNA for the next post.
hope everyone is having a good day.

I'm not sure that running legitimate businesses means very much in the world of the Mafia. Look at the Todaros of Buffalo, it was long believed that the Buffalo mob ceased to exist and that the Todaros retired from organized crime and no longer needed to be involved due to the huge success of their pizza business, but here recently it's been discovered that they're still active. Another example is two very wealthy members of the Colombo Family who I won't mention here. One is huge in the yact chartering business and the other in automobiles. Still, when called upon to help in war efforts by Carmine Persico during the 1990s war they couldn't refuse. Another example is Salvatore Avellino of the Luccheses, multimillionaire, if not billionaire. That guy actually bought his way back into the Lucchese Family, totally did not need it. Not saying that's the case with the Caruana-Cuntreras but a lot of times you end up with businessmen that operate with one foot in and one foot out. Canada is weird though. Here we have clearly defined membership, rather it be street gangs, prison gangs, or the Mafia. You know exactly what group they belong, their rank, what oaths they took, etc. In Canada mobsters are hardly even referred to as members, they're referred to as having ties or "allied with." Is there even any solid membership?

as usual very good points. and true about the patience of the sicilians especially, so maybe the C-C did strike back but at a later date, the rizzuto/sollecito faction eventually did. examples being both ducarme joseph and tony magi. also some of the hits that i'm sure we will get into could very well be revenge from past attacks. very good very good.

So was the Bertolo hit the cause for the split in the Rizzuto Clan?

it was a cause but it doesnt look to be the main or only cause. i think desjardins never forgave the RCF admin for ordering the hit. the narrative of arcadi ordering on his own is baseless as although he was the street boss at this time the entirety of the RCF leadership was still on the street unencumbered by indictments or parole restrictions, minus of course vito rizzuto. so arcadi and those close to him may have planned and carried out the murder it was not arcadis sole decision to take out bertolo and it doesnt appear to be a personal or vindictive hit. bertolo wanted drug territory back that he held prior to a prison sentence, upon release he was told by arcadi et al that that he could no longer operate there, bertolo continued to do so and for this he was murdered. desjardins may have blamed all those that approved the hit eventually. this brings up a good point too about the closeness or alleged closeness of desjardins to VITO and rizzuto family proper in particular. if desjardins was that close to V.R. as to be described as his '#2 or right hand man"? then how do we explain the RCF leadership doing nothing to arbitrate a solution to this instead of outright murder. we have no evidence either way if vito was aware while imprisoned of what was going on, but most certaintly nick sr, renda and sollecito were and nothing was done. i think this murder is not rare in mtl or the mafia in general. an order was given by those in charge of the family to not do something which was ignored by a lower ranking member, and for this bertolo was murdered. not an out of the blue scenario historically for any mafia and honestly members or associates have surely been taken out for less. even after this murder there was not a full scale break out of violence across mtl featuring clearly defined divisions or factions. that came eventually as we have seen. so in this 2004-2006 period i think it can be seen as the beginning of the decline of the RCF. there is rumor that giuseppe devito and others stopped kicking up all street tax or not paying full amount of tax upwards to RCF leadership. there was the outward hostility of the granby based d'amico family over lost money from cannabis exports, but this never even devolved into murder and mayhem the likes of which the admin were soon to see. vito rizzuto was yet to be deported by aug 2005 and i do not believe any group were powerful enough, allied properly or outright dumb enough to make a move on the RCF while its BOSS was still on qc soil. the possibility of V.R. beating the extradition and being released or serving sentence in qc was entirely plausible given canadas justice system. finally as we have seen it takes alot to make a move on a mafia family. many different factors have to align in order for it to work, which may be why it is so rare it is attempted and even rarer it is succesful.

continuing on...

(nov.11 2010-dec.21 2011)

-period covering time after murder of nick sr. and eventual arrest and imprisonment of raynald desjardins for murder of salvatore montagna. i do not consider this a war inside the montreal mafia. this was a short alliance that fell apart for more than 1 reason. and if we are to believe that for this time desjardins was amongst those running the city then how can we call it a mafia war? were there murders? yes. but nothing on the scale of what we saw in 2009-2010. the D-D-D+Montagna alliance however had potential to have a long run on top.

antonio disalvo
murdered= jan.31 2011
allied w/ R.F.,arcadi?
ordered by= ?
committed by= ?
motive= ? all the question marks beg the question if this hit falls into the a mtl war? disalvo has been mentioned as an arcadi allie in media reports involved in drug trafficking. perhaps he still held some rank or role in the R.F. at this point but i can find no info of this.

lorenzo lopresti
murdered= oct. 24 2011
allied w/ s.montagna, antonio pietrantonio.
ordered by= ?
committed= ?
motive= ? again really not sure. if the hit on montagna was already in motion at this point i guess this was a preemptive hit. but if we are to believe a .scoppa montagna was not behind the sept.16 2011 attempted murder on raynald desjardins. it was roger valiquette, over some land deal gone wrong. but, these were some deceptive times and i cant see either montagna or desjardins bending an inch for total control of the city. in a way i think montagna really messed up the overall plan for full control. it is believed lopresti aligned with montagna at some point after the hit on nick jr. lopresti has also been put working under pietrantonio in the overall montagna crew.

( dec.22 2011-oct.5 2012)
-period covering time after arrest of desjardins, mirarchi et al. for murder of montagna up to the eventual release of VITO RIZZUTO. as far as murders go there is only 2 i will get to. this period actually represents another period of relative calm amongst the ever shifting clan alliances in the milieu. i do not consider this time period a war in the sense we have been discussing. although there is no good evidence yet as to why these 2 giuseppes ( colapelle and renda) were murdered neither would be considered an allie or member of the rizzuto faction. a few questions also about joe dimaulo and his role in all this. dimaulo would be the most senior ranking member on the street during this time and had been previously described as an advisor to the desjardins clan. it appears he may have kept this role amongst the new leaders on the street for desjardins and devito, colapelle and sucapane.

giuseppe colapelle
murdered= mar.2 2012
allied w/ mirarchi.
ordered by= ?, no idea but colapelle was considered a major cocaine supplier to many sides possibly even r.f.?
committed by= ?
motive= possible taken out in retaliation for past murders against the rizzutos. or over cocaine deals gone bad...i dont have a clue to be honest.

giuseppe renda
murdered= may.4 2012
allied w/ montagna ( previous to his 2011 murder), as to who renda hooked up with after not really sure, not the r.f.
ordered by= r.f. possibly over renda allying with montagna. could also been ordered by leaders of rival faction for same reason.
committed by= ?
motive= see above, there really is not alot of good info out there about this hit.

sorry about lack of details here but just not a ton of good info about these 2 hits. also even less about say riccardo ruffulos or walter guiterrez murders. i do not consider these part of a war but deffinitely mtl mafia murders.

i should have also said if the rizzuto faction were indeed behind these 2 hits in 2012 then the start date of a possible 2nd war would be that of colapelle murder.

a continuing sneeky period of time for the mtl mafia...i see a trend developing.

oct.6 2012-dec.23 2013
-period covering only the time after V.R.'S release from u.s. prison and his death. this is the start of the R.F.'S counter attack on the opposing dimaulo led faction. i know i previously stated its possible this 2nd war began with murder of giuseppe colapelle. however i dont think we can definitively say it was sanctioned by V.R. as he was still incarcerated. the following list will only include those that V.R. was on the street for and likely to have been approved by him or those around him. i will only put R.F. as far as ordered by however as there appears to be disagreement over whom actually ordered some of these. ( i.e. vito himself, stefano sollecito ).

joe dimaulo
murdered= nov.4 2012
allied w/ leader of opposing faction, senior member of mafia in mtl, r desjardins, giuseppe devito.
ordered by= R.F.
committed by= alleged by andrea scoppa that tonino callochia was the shooter. also alleged that callochia was promoted after this. promoted to what or in control of what territory scoppa does not say.
motive= dimaulo stayed fully aligned with his brother-in-law throughout 1st war and those close to desjardins. there is no evidence dimaulo tried to step in to resolve ongoing conflict between 2 sides as might have been expected from such a senior, respected mafia member. for his disloyalty and i would think for any of his remaining rackets he was taken out.

emilio cordileone
murdered= dec.9 2012
allied w/ moreno gallo by most reports. emilio's father domenico has long been considered an associate of dimaulos. either way not a rizzuto faction member.
ordered by= ? or R.F. the question mark will be explained below.
committed by= ?
motive= could be as easily explained that emilio was allied with moreno gallo. upon gallos deportation emilio lost some protection. there was also media reports at time of murder that this could have been the result of an unpaid drug debt, to whom or for how much was not stated.

domenico facchini
murdered= dec. 21 2012
allied w/ devito clan
ordered by= ?, R.F.
committed by= ?
motive= most books and media claim that facchini worked for giuseppe devito at time of murder. i cant disagree but facchini does not appear to be a high ranking member of the devito clan.

gaetan gosselin
murdered= jan. 22 2013
allied w/ r. desjardins, dimaulo led faction.
ordered by= V.R.
committed by= red allied unit 44 crew led by harry mytil. alleged shooter was olivier gay i believe.
motive= gosselin was desjardins man on the street while r.d. was imprisoned and going to trial. gosselin would almost certainly worked under and reported direct to joe dimaulo in the overall pecking order on the street. businness both legal and illegal were also most likely a motive.

vincenzo scuderi
murdered= feb. 1 2013
allied w/ g. devito, working under nicola dimarco.
ordered by= R.F.
committed by= same hit team as used on gosselin.
motive= being an ally of devito could have been enough at this point.

juan ramon fernandez with fernando pimentel
murdered= apr. 9 2013
allied w/ r. desjardins, bagheria cosca working under sergio flamia.
ordered by= ?, R.F.,rival bagheria mafia members.
committed by= scaduto bros pietro and salvatore with aid of giuseppe carbone.
motive= the accepted narrative is that fernandez did not pick a side or rally to vito's defence during 1st mafia war. this would have been hard to do as fernandez was either imrisoned or deported during that time. it has also been stated that calls were made to fernandez to come and meet V.R. on more than one occasion and were declined. another possible theory could be that at the same time the bagheria cosca was not a united family. the scadutos as a family have long had control of this family and wanted to again. sergio flamia the man fernandez worked under was only inducted into family in jan 2012 after a long tenure as muscle for the family. it turns out also that flamia was working as an informant as far back as 2009, before actually publicly flipping october 2013. most prominent members of cosca were arrested may 2013 in proj. argo. so it could be possible the scadutos were tipped off to this and took one of flamias earners out before fernandez had a chance to flip as well. may seem far fetched or not, most reports do claim there was communication between sicily and canada around this time. these calls could have been simply to ask if fernandez was still allied with R.F. carbone ultimately flipped as well but could not give detailed info about the reason for the hit, that proof is with the scaduto bros, and i dont see them turning any time soon. pimentel had only been in bagheria since mar.28 2013 and would only rank as an associate working under fernandez...who was also just an associate.

moreno gallo
murdered= nov.10 2013, in mexico.
allied w/ leader of his own clan allegedly, had been allied with montagna prior to his 2011 murder. does not appear that gallo continued to lead a clan/cell while hiding in mexico.
ordered by= R.F.
committed= ?
motive= for not staying loyal to rizzuto faction and apparently ordering both rocco and stefano sollecito out of montreal in fall of 2011.

roger valiquette
murdered= dec.19 2013
allied w/ R.F. working directly with stefano sollecito and tonino callochia.
ordered by= R.F.
committed by= marco claudio campellone
motive= as stated above he was allied with the R.F. scoppa states in book valiquette was taken out for control of the BOOK and the fact both s. sollecito and callochia owed him large amounts of money. this hit was thought to have been an attack on a desjardins associate originally, however if we are to believe scoppa and that is a big if, valiquette was the one who attempted to hit desjardins in sept 2011.

note: i know i have ref'd the scoppa book alot when doing these lists. i know his info cannot be fully trusted as he was a high level self serving long time career criminal. but 2 well respected dialed in journalist and authors figured it was good enough to publish in a book that is readily available at most major bookstores. felix seguin and eric thibault are very good at what they do and have established themselves throughout all this mayhem as good journalists. i can only assume they hit up there contacts inside the mtl police and other law enforcement to verify most of what scoppa claimed.

more to follow....???
