Although I'm a Pittsburgh Guy, I knew Tony DelSanter, Consigliere and I met John (Peanuts) Tronolon, Acting Boss.

In 1989, Tronolone became the only Mafia boss to have the distinction of being arrested in a hand-to-hand undercover transaction by local law enforcement. He accepted allegedly stolen jewelry from Lt. Dave Green, an undercover Broward County deputy in exchange for bookmaking and loan sharking debts. Green was forced to wear a disguise because Tronolone knew his real identity.

Was he a smart guy?

Since I only met Tronolone I can't tell you if I thought he was a smart guy or not.
My guess is that he was being an Acting Boss and the responsibilities that went with it.

Im brand new here. I've always been interested in the history of the Cleveland Family. Not really much out there online for research. Nice job on the list. Anyone help me look up some historical articles about Cleveland? Peanuts moved to Florida way back in the day Ive read. Bet it was a great place to make some money back then.

Not that I know of. I met him at Jo Jo's camp, Charlie's Roost in Tionesta, PA.
I remember that he left for Florida every year when deer season ended in Pennsylvania.

I do not believe that there is ANY discernible structure of any organization left in the City of Cleveland. Nor has there been for many years already.

Are there a few 'independent' bookies, gamblers and hustlers? Probably. Is there any form of what could be considered 'traditional' organized crime activity left? Thats highly, highly doubtful!
