I thought Bill's comments on the American "Mafia" were spot on. It was never a Italian thing, but a melting pot.

Since day one when this video came out, two of the most funny things for me in this interview were about the "snap a man's neck with his fingers" metaphor and also Al Capone being a "very jolly guy" lol Bonanno Sr was a liar to the core and his book was more fictional than Roemer's books lol The only thing I respect Bonanno is for his statement that Luciano believed in money and was completely Americanized, which is a perfect definition for the American-Italian Mob, not "Mafia". Thats why there were guys like Gus Alex in Chicago who received official top positions, and Lansky having a seat on the national commission (according to a convo between Accardo and Giancana). Traditional vs Modern or Maranzano/Bonanno vs Luciano/Capone. Thats it.
