Is there a structure? No. Are there criminals of irish blood operating in Boston? Yes. Most say when KW flipped was the end, but the winter Hill gang was still active in the mid 2000s, just not as powerful as they once were, cause of all the damage that the two did. By late 2000s, all members had either retired or gone out on their own. There still a couple of neighborhood guys that still call some of the shots in Charlestown and Somerville, but nothing like it was back then. Many are involved in street gangs that are made up of different ethnicities, or with the local neo nazis, some who went or were in prison joined SAC, or DMI.
"I have this Nightmare. I'm on 5th avenue watching the St. Patrick's Day parade and I have a coronary and nine thousand cops march happily over my body." Chief Sidney Green

They're aren't really any Irish neighborhoods left in Boston. You have some families still owning houses in Southie, concentrations in some areas like Dorchester,, Hyde Park,, etc. For example, but the vast majority of people living in Southie are not Irish townies but rather mostly young professionals who have moved into and gentrified the entire area completely. Same with Charlestown, all the Irish are gone, even the white housing project isn't Irish anymore or even white, nothing at all left of these "irish" neighborhoods and definitely positively nothing left of the Winter Hill mob...everyone's dead, the bars and businesses are all gone and changed 100%. None of this exists in reality anymore and anyone who lives here can easily confirm all this...

And I tell you now, without a doubt, there are NO more Irish strongholds within the Big Apple. Not a one! Are there former Irish-dominated neighborhoods that still retain a small smattering of Irish residents? Definitely! But "strongholds?" No way. No how....Period!

Chicago still has a very strong Irish presence on the south side! There’s a few Irish social clubs as well that have guys who are members who are also connected.

I don't disagree NYM it's not like the old days but there are still Irish pubs and clubs in the big cities and there are still Irish immigrants coming to the mentioned cities. Yes, intermittently sprinkled throughout major cities. But they are NOT hoodlums. Organized crime makes up only a small microcosm of any given ethnicity. Just because there may be Irish pubs and eateries, does NOT correlate to Irish hoodlums, or Irish organized crime!
