I don't believe Pennesi has members of Lastorino's family in touch with him. More likely the FBI, but he wants so sound as if he is still in touch with things that go on. He uses that video to put the man down and attack him right after his death. Penessi is annoying, he actually loves being a rat. At Least DILeonardo says he regrets it.

Got shelved after he did an 18 year bid? Some loyalty. Would he have flipped had he known they were going to do that prior to doing 2 decades in prison? Over the Testa murder? Wasn't his call, Gaspipe ordered him to do it, no?

Pennisi finds joy in talking negatively about his former cohorts and seems to revel in their misfortune. If his ex friends had a platform such as Pennisi’s, I can only imagine the dirt that would come out. He makes it seem as though he was this very loyal, old school soldier that followed every rule to a tee.
He seems to really focus on Guzzo and I am skeptical of some his assertions. I think he is a very bitter and spiteful person.
Pennisi also seems to claim/ imply that Lastorino’s family somehow thinks that he is a good guy and stays in touch with him as well as seek him out to provide him with info. He does this to reduce his rat persona. His claims are dubious at best.
To me, having a podcast to tell stories about former partners in crime is just a continuation of being a rat. He should just get a normal job amd mive on with his life rather than trying to be a journalist. You have Pennisi thinking he is a respected journalist, Borello thinking he is a movie star, and Calandra thinking he is a hollywood director. All these clowns live in a fantasy world thinking their big break is just around the corner.

If he was shelved there had to a reason.
