Do you think the commission still exists?

Or does it just exist in name only but does not function anymore?

It very much still exists. It's just a different commission. Instead of appointing judges to the Supreme Court, they play fantasy football and debate which boss has the sexiest golf swing. Mikey Nose thinks he's got the hips to sink ships, but Lore can do the Harlem shuffle

Its reduced to only the 5 families so I don't think that exists anymore.

The 5 Families still meet with Philadelphia, DeCavalcante, Patriarca, and probably even Detroit and Chicago. Is it a functioning Commission? Probably not, but I don't think the mob is quite as weak as everyone thinks. Some of them still even go back and forth to the old country.

5 years ago Buffalo's Big Joe Todaro stated he consulted with The Commission for permission to promote Dom Violi as Buffalo's new underboss.

After the commission case
It was a fact that it was NOT smart to meet anymore like it once did.

I mean those guys got 100 years for being a part of the commission.

What were they going to pretend that never happened.

After that I dont think the commission operated like it once did.

Enforcing rules etc.

I think in its place the families still met from time to time however, completely underground.

After murders stopped there wasn't/isn't much to worry about in terms of families going to war with each other.

Taking going to war off the table.

The role they played was limited at that point.

For sure asked to the 5 families but I doubt that 5 familes rappresentatives had a meeting with Todaro that adked the permission. I think that said that to emphasize his choice.

For the heads of all 5 families to meet up would be difficult, to say the least. If they could meet functioning now is tough, bosses seem to be out of control of their own families, and rats testify then live openly.

Apart Mancuso and the Colombos the other families seem stable and the bosses control it. The rats live openly only because the mafia decided that killing a rat after ttestifies is useless and draws too much attention, wven if they would return to the old hoods.

In 2022, no one wants to risk their freedom going after rats.
In the past up until the late 90’s they would try to kill Rats.

That is a thing of the past killing Rats.

It’s not so much a sign of weakness as it is more so evolving with the times.
One murder could take out whole crew or the entire admin, and than lead to more rats.

Those days are over.

With that said RATS are still blackballed and alienated
Maybe a rat has come back to the neighborhood maybe even two.

I am in the neighborhood everyday.

People aren’t just ratting coming back to the neighborhood and being accepted like nothing happened.

That’s just not how it is.

I am talking about made guys.

I have not seen on these boards the name of a made guy that ratted
And is just living life in BensonHURST like nothing happened.

The guys that were named are NOT living here, so f they are nobody here knows about it and I have not read about it anywhere from a credible source.

I know what is happening in my neighborhood, I can’t and don’t comment on neighborhoods I don’t know.

How could I tell someone what’s happening in Chicago? Or Philadelphia?
I have no way of knowing that.

My family has lived in Bensonhurst for about 100 years.
