Georgian “thief in law” was killed in Greece

Georgian “thief in law” Shota Tevdoradze, 41, was shot dead in Greece. He was known in criminal world as “Shotiko”. The attacker opened fire on Tevdoradze in front of a 5-year-old child.

Shota Tevdoradze was “baptized” as a “thief in law” in 2000 in Geguti colony, at the age of 19. He was given criminal status by the influential “thief in law” Gaioz Zviadadze, who was shot dead in Turkey last year.

Greek police are investigating the identities of the men involved in the murder and the motive for the crime.

Interesting stuff - I was under the impression that they were pretty much done with. Guess not!

P.S. I always laugh when I see guys putting on their stars on their collarbones/knees trying to pretend they're Vors. Would love to see them try it front of actual Vors!

Yes DillyDolly, because people can't pretend to be something/someone if that's inactive.

And yes, I figured they were finished as far as alliance and organization go. Does that mean I think all Vors are dead? No.

Would I like to see posers in front of actual Vors, who are still criminals and would probably lay hands on them for pretending to someone they're not? Yes.

The Russian Mafia is notorious but the Slavics are a minority the Caucusus is dominant.

Interesting! I guess I have to read up on Vory V Zakone, it's been a while. The last I read (bear in mind it was close to a decade ago!) it was that the newer generations are refusing to show alliance to Vory V Zakone and that the number and influence of Vors is decreasing.

In Ingushetia, near the village of Surkhakhi, a skeletonized body was found that could have belonged to 31-year-old thief in law Khamzat Aushev, known in criminal circles as Khamzat Ingush, Kavkaz.

A pistol was found next to the corpse, whose ribs and skull were already exposed, but jeans and a jacket were preserved. The publication reports that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the departments of the Investigative Committee for Ingushetia have not denied the information about the discovery of the body of the crime boss.

Khamzat Aushev is one of the youngest thieves in law in Russia. He was “crowned” in 2012 in Dubai by influential Georgian thieves in law. In 2013, he was arrested and served a long sentence for robbery and disorganization of the Vladimirsky Central prison. In 2020, the crime boss was sent to a prison psychiatric hospital and released from it for health reasons in the spring of 2021.

Vor V Zakone is predominantly a South Caucasus thing. The number of Georgian vors is disproportionate - and within the Georgian vor world the number of vors coming from the Svaneti region is even more disproportionate. Other vors predominantly hail from Azerbaijan and Armenia and there's a comparatively huge number of Yezidi Kurdish vors from Armenia and Georgia as well.

That doesn't really mean that the Slavs are a minority in the "Russian" criminal world. Most "bratvas" from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, the Urals, Vladivostok, etc...are predominantly ethnically Russian (Slavic) - they also have plenty of Jewish members - and hold a lot of power.

Criminal groups from the North Caucasus - usually Chechen, Ingush and Dagestani (mostly Avar-speaking) groups - are like the Slavic bratvas in that they usually don't follow the vor authority either. Although there seems to be an increase of vor recruitment among North Caucasians.

Ethnicity has little influence on joining the vor . Within the Vor(and the Russian mafia) several ethnicities cluster together in major crime groups: ethnic Russians, Russian and Ukrainian Jews, Georgians, Armenians, Chechens, Azerbaijanis and Yazidis can all be found within the vor v zakone or within the crime groups mentioned under the term Russian mafia.

Last October Tariel Oniani went to freedom in Spain. He served the term of concluding on charges of laundering of criminal assets.
According to the publication, the 63-year-old authority immediately left the country in an unknown direction.
