The Tampa Bay Times has an interesting article on Joseph "Baby Joe" Diez, a chaffeur and bodyguard for Charlie Wall, who jockeyed with Santo Trafficante Sr. and Jr. for control of the Tampa rackets in the 30s and 40s before he was bludgeoned to death with a baseball bat in 1955.
