Sad news for Man of Honor Vittorio Orena, aka Little Vic. The poor man doesn't deserve this but it is what it is.

The whole thing is outrageous - for Russo to be chained to a bed and for Orena not to be able to go home. In addition to the prosecution making Russo go to a doctor to see if his medical state is what he claims.Kind of reminds me of what they did after Tino Fiumara passed - making sure he was really dead. They're nothing but sore losers.

Totally agree. They let killers looters and school shooters out on bail these days but if an Italian guy says some mean words on the phone he is locked up with no bail.

School shooters are children, these poor kids aren't even fully matured yet and don't know how to handle their emotions going through puberty and to tell you the truth our schools are nothing but cesspools that breed bullies and toxic subcultures. That being said, I've never heard of a school shooter let out on bail.

And majicrat, regardless of what you think these Men of Honor have paid their debts to society and they didn't tell on anyone. For that reason, not only would I set them free to be with their families, but I'd give them a medal.

The kid a couple weeks ago shot up the school and got out on bail. He was black.

I agree with you....The game is the game...When you get caught, you accept the consequences....No one has any remorse until they get up in age and their mortality sets in...Should have thought about the possibility of dying in prison when they were young and could've avoided it.

Who said anything about remorse? I don't see anything wrong with the life he lived, so long as the government and those hypocrites in the church are doing much worse. He's old and harmless, let him go.

I do have to give you credit on that, and frankly I knew it was coming because after I wrote that I googled it myself and got the same case here that you did.

Nevertheless, I'm going to stand by my original point even if it isn't flawless. Your original inference was that it is a common, regular occurrence for high school shooters to make bail and be released. I will continue to maintain that it is not, even in view of a singular example to the contrary. I might even be tempted to question whether or not it is more common for the shooter to commit suicide than it is for them to be released, but that becomes a whole other discussion.

Let's just be clear in giving credit where it's due: I acknowledge that you succeeded in producing an example.

But I continue to reject the premise that it is a regular occurrence. The surprising thing about the example you produced is that it occurred in Texas. It has to some measure shaken my faith in the US justice system which I can only admire from afar, living as I do in a country where killers really do face minimal prison time, if any at all. Unfortunately, I could produce links all day long to show you the failures of the Canadian justice system.

Your comment makes it sound as though this was a fully grown adult well out of high school who just decided to walk in a school and shoot up a bunch of kids. I don't think he should burn in hell, shit happens between people, especially teenagers. Now what he did was wrong but I think you're being a little extreme here. From what I gathered, there were multiple warning signs and the proper authorities were notified as to what was going on between these kids, but they blew it off. It's horrible all the way around. But that's just me, I've never been the "hang'em hang'em" type.

Back on topic - Vinny Unions, the one who got caught making death threats was released on bail because the conditions at the MDC in Brooklyn are terrible

Great point, Ricciardi was caught threatening to kill someone and even mentioned their family, so surely Orena should be released.
