The charges were not even filed against Gigante. They were filed against the archdiocese for big money. Gigante was already dying when the lawyer filed the suit and it came just as the deadline for the lawsuit was coming up. One boy said he was molested in 1976, a woman said she was molested in the 1960's! He was dying, no charge was bought against him by the district attorney. I am amazed at how people hear an accusation (Robbery, murder, rape, stealing,) and right away start screaming for the punishment of who ever was accused. They don't even need details, it's a lynching attitude, and it is sadly in the majority.

In Louis Gigante's case the charges came when he was too old and sick to even respond.

He was never arrested or charged, I don't even think he was questioned. The charges are against the church, it's for one of those lawsuits, of which there are thousands, of people saying they were molested 45 or 50 years ago. They are all sorts of lawsuits now that the laws were changed. A person can go to a lawyer and say a teacher or priest touched them in 1965, and sue. If he had molested children it would have been known, he would have been arrested by the FBI in a second. The charges came last year.

How about a gay priest who had family with Mafia connections? That would be Tony Sirico's brother Robert.

Mystery solved: It was Nathan McCalla (aka Big Nat) a Black record producer who was arrested with Levy for beating up a cop. Gigante HAD NO INVOLVEMENT AT ALL. The trail of Levy and McCalla was dropped, and years later McCala was murdered in Florida.
