I'm kinda bored at work so I was thinking, how different would things have been if Galante was able to take over the Bonnano's and Dellacroce the Gambino's in the late 70's early 80's? Would they have gotten along or would they have gone to war. They hated each other as I understand it but as the bosses do they bury the hatchet to make money or is it war like the old days? When Galante was killed he wasn't the official boss and obviously Dellacroce wasn't either but what if they both were?

I think it would depend on the reason for the killer of Galante meeting members at The Ravenite after the shooting. I forget what the reason was, but obviously Dellacroce was in on it. If whatever dispute it was about had been avoided who knows. I think Galente was killed for not recognizing that he was not boss, and involvement in drugs. They may have gotten along, but I think no matter who was boss of the Gambinos, Galante was too much a hot head and a rebel that it would have wound up about the same.

I think it's possible that Galante was killed because he had a vast and lucrative heroin pipeline and refused to share it with other families. Also, Galante bragged that "I'll make Carlo Gambino s**t in the street." Not likely to win him friends in Don Carlo's family.

My cousins husband worked for the florist that supplied flowers for Carlo's funeral and not only saw Gambino in his casket but went over to him and slapped him lightly in face and told him" You're not so tough now,, huh, Mr Boss of all Bosses.", when he was alone in the basement with him. That's my story and I'm sticking to it

Galante was getting to power hungry and everyone saw that - tha why the had him killed - his own kind did that. But ever since then the Sicilians have slowly lost control in the Bonannos - meanwhile I’m the Gambinos the Sicilians have gained control again and are moving in the right direction .. Bonannos will forever be minor league especially with this administration and newly inducted members -
