He started out as just another seemingly dime a dozen young Greenwich Village street thug. But The Chin was so much more than what he looked like.

He was sharp enough to hitch his wagon to 'Don Vito' Genovese as a kid...and the rest is consigned to mafia history!

Gigante is the last biography that I'll be doing for awhile.

Over the last month or so I've been delving into industry and borgata wide stories. In fact, besides the aforementioned Upstate NY and Pennsylvania exposes' that will be released in the next week or two, I've started a multi-part (up to 5 parts already and counting LOL) of the early development and expansion of mob activities on LI.

I think you're gonna like em

Nice read.

“I called your f—— house five times yesterday, now, if you’re going to disregard my m—– f—— phone calls, I’ll blow you and that f —— house up… This is not a f—— game. My time is valuable. If I ever hear anybody else calls you and you respond within five days, I’ll f—— kill you.” ~ John Gotti.

Peter Savino got a better deal than Gravano in order to rat on Gigante, who had been good with him. Gravano did mob killings, Savino was killing non mafia members who he dealt drugs with, unknown to Gigante. I think he killed them after meeting for fake deals, then would kill them and take the drugs or the money. Outside of his working with Genovese on the windows skim, there is little out there about him. Even the news stories on his murders are tough to find. If not for Savino, and Gigante getting fooled into trusting him, Gigante may have had a chance to win his RICO case.

Good read!

Did he really shake Frank’s hand in court? That is wild! I thought he just said thanks Frank.

I also didn’t know Eboli was hit during the day. I read they let him have his time with his mistress and I guess I just assumed it was at night.

Did Chin work with Lombardo at all?

I'm sure as a young fella and as he matured he did. Lombardo was a major player all those years

According to Rita Gigante's book, Chin's brother Patsy Gigante was not married and lived with a "roommate". The whole family knew but they pretended not to know. Patsy was smart enough not to bring his partner to family functions.

The Chin knew his brother was gay but he let it slide because Patsy, being eldest, took a lot of a beating from their violent father and he would often protect his little brothers.

Yeah, I don't think Patsy was straightened out. At least I hope not. LOL.... but he was a hoodlum nonetheless connected with them. He was gay but kept a lid on his shit. Because Gigante or no Gigante, they would have put him in a truck in those days for that.
