Larry McMurtry, who wrote Lonesome Dove, passed away recently. Not long before that, he did a Q&A on the Reddit website. People from the Lonesome Dove and Westerns interests groups submitted questions.

Lonesome Dove is somewhat like the Godfather, in that it has legions of fans hanging on every detail of the story, both in print or on film. Godfather fans sometimes wonder: if we could corner Puzo or Coppola for ten minutes, could we clear up all these questions? As McMurtry demonstrates here, the answer could be, "Maybe not."
