A lot of fuzz is made when there's snitching in the Mafia, but people tend to forget there are A LOT of rats in cartels too. There's a ton of snitching in that world, whether you're in the Mob, a drug cartel, a street/prison/biker gang or any other kind of organized crime group.

In that respect, the longevity of a Mafia crime family is astonishing. For instance the Gambino's have been around since the 1910's.
Compared to this, a cartel's demise is relatively fast. The Guadalajara cartel for instance lasted about 10 years, the Medellin and Cali cartels each about 20 years...plenty of other cartels stick around for a while longer, but with an extremely reduced power.

The Mob has been ingrained in pop culture, so it's tempting for people to have a bit of "schadenfreude" about the amount of rats the Mob has to deal with - but it doesn't hurt to realize that the same amount (maybe even moreso) of ratting is going on in any type of criminal organization.

The mob family was always orientated to bussiness so the bodies in the streets are dangerous for the bussiness while in the Cartels, murders is the rule, killing enemies, killing cops, killing everything so people prefer to flip and save his life, look at the film the counselour,a massacre only for what 300k dollars?

Snitching is part of the game. When you’re in the criminal world, tes money, power, women, parties, luxury, drugs etc is the fun part of the game. But with all this you also got murders, addiction, trahison, snitching, jail time etc.

Every organizations or criminal levels will face the possibilies of snitch in there ranks.

That one guy on the MBA and button man podcast, hootie, he was stating that basically la cosa nostra is super hot with the FBI and that the cartels were always staying away but maybe now it may be a new shift in the cartels soladarity or may lead to more killings

You are correct BlackMobs. But today, more than ever before, ratting has become almost an "accepted" and "honorable" thing if I dare say so! Its friggin disgusting that these hardens don't even think twice before opening up on their friends and associates.

Like its expected today! It's becoming a sicker and sicker world every day. Where being a "rat" is no big deal anymore.

In my time, a Rat? A "stool pigeon" as we used to call them, was the lowest form of life. A complete dishonorable piece of shit to be despised by everyone. Even their own blood families.

Today? Lol.... Don't even get me started!

Rats are the worst. I read that Joe Massinos daughter disowned him for it, wonder if she kept it up or when the Feds released The last Rat and let him keep his 10+ million if she came back into the fold.

Ratting / informing may be disgusting from the betrayed criminals point of view, but without them we wouldn't have much information to discuss on the forums, would we? The lack of loyalty in the underworld provides "gold mines" of information for average citizens interested in the subject.

Willie Marfeo to Henry Tameleo:

1) "You people want a loaf of bread and you throw the crumbs back. Well, fuck you. I ain't closing down."

2) "Get out of here, old man. Go tell Raymond to go shit in his hat. We're not giving you anything."

Yes you right, like most of the movies about gangsters are on gangsters that have snitch. Also, many vlog or podcast on youtube are from criminals that have ratted

True and don't forget many intelligence services themselves have been accused of involvement in drug trafficking.

Chapo himself was a snitch. Gave the federales information on his enemies (and sometimes his friends) for years. He even offered to become a snitch for the DEA.

Her lawyer Lichtman claimed that international media has published false reports about Emma Coronel, he said that agents leaked information that the woman would be cooperating with the United States government, something that he said could endanger her life and the lives of her daughters because in Mexico the families of the people who collaborate “sometimes get their throats slit.”

Cartels will never be as "popular" as LCN...yeah a Roy Demeo was just as savage as any Cartel hitman but he did it 100% for business and revenge. He didn't stop a bus on the highway pull everyone off and murder them like Cartels do. Chapo is pure scum and so is every other drug lord.

Is it me or does anyone else get the feeling that the "no snitching rule" is basically for the peasants. El Mayo Zambada told his son to do whatever he had to see the light of day again. These organisations that go across borders and are worth billions operate in a different realm you can't compare them to a local organised crime family or street gang.

The "no snitching rule" its only for the low ranking members, the relatives of the bosses can do what ever they want including to rat and betrayl for save them and turn to enjoy their fathers money.

It does show the hypocrisy and duality of these organizations.

Footsoldiers get dismembered and decapitated alive for as much as saying "hello" to cop, while at the same time high ranking members are ratting out rivals and even colleagues all the time just to save their own ass or to move up to an even higher position.

It's terrible, but that's just the way it goes in the cartel life I suppose.

Maybe El Mencho but that is totally false. Los Chino Antrax is how a lot of these narcos are. El Chapo got caught because he liked restaurants and women. El Mencho is the exception not rule.

The youngsters love to show their wealth, power and glamorous life on instagram for example, they are heavily influenced by Hollywood.
