Which war is the most intriguing, and had the biggest impact on the mob and why

1. The Bonnano War
2. Gallo/Profaci
3. Scarfo/Riccobene?

I personally find the Gallo war the most interesting with all the big time mobsters involved and the antics involved. Anyone have another opinion or war. BTW the Castellamarese War not included because it was clearly the most significant.

Personally the Corleonesi versus the State, really, how else do you treat the enemies.

In Sicily, women are more dangerous than the shotgun.

You're right.Whren the Corleonesi won the war,the italians still believe that the mob doesnt exits but thanks to Riina that ordered to kill every judges, cops that was investigating on Cosa Nostra, will come the Maxi Trial, the 41 bis and thanks to Capaci bomb in 1992 all high ranking mobsters was killed or arrested.

The most consequential war in US history was Masseria/Maranzano in 1930-31. Immediate results were the end of the "Moustache Petes," a new, younger generation of Dons, and the establishment of the Commission.

1) Corleonesi vs the Italian State (give to the italians the proofs that the mafia exist and are dangerous)
2) NCO - NF War(was the only case which a camorra clan tried to take control on all the Campania)
3) The A-B-C war in Rochester (that disbanded the small family)
4)Third Colombo War (almost led to the totally disband of Colombos)
5)Nardi/Greene vs Cleveland Mob (seriously wounded the family)

The Gallo rebellion never had a chance to change somethins, the banana war led to a instability period for the Bonannos but doesnt done big damages and Riccobene doesnt have enought men to be a menace for Scarfo,he start the war because hated Scarfo.

The 1st mafia war in Sicily in the 1960s (La Barbera vs Greco and respective allies) was interesting too, although it didn't have such a big impact as the one started by the Corleonesi.

Willie Marfeo to Henry Tameleo:

1) "You people want a loaf of bread and you throw the crumbs back. Well, fuck you. I ain't closing down."

2) "Get out of here, old man. Go tell Raymond to go shit in his hat. We're not giving you anything."

Wasn't there kind of a war in the Chicago Outfit during the 70s and 80s over the chop shop racket. There was also the Leisure War in St Louis.

would have to say the ongoing war/wars going on in both montreal and toronto from 2009-present day.
the amount of murders, attempted murders, arsons and general mayhem committed by the various factions and alliances is incredible.
now i realize that this may not be a single war like some of the other examples given but even short time periods r significant.

2009-2011
desjardins/dimaulo/devito faction vs. the rizzuto faction
-this 2 year war is crazy enough and what set off the ongoing violence.

It was more like a massacre.
