No,Mike would have still been in Sicily. Sonny's killing was the reason that Vito met with the heads of the Families. During that meeting,he mentions that Tattaglia lost a son,and that he lost a son also. He goes on to say that arrangements were being made to bring Mike home. I can only assume that Sonny was already in the ground at the time of the sitdown.
