Capo Frank Iaconi ran the rackets in the City of Worcester so smoothly and low key, so lucratively and successfully without gangland bloodshed, that for over sixty years his regime prospered. More than that, hardly anybody knew anything about them...until now!

Please visit our ButtonGuys of The New York Mafia website to read all about him.

I really enjoyed this. How many crews did the Genovese family have in New England? Two in Massachusetts and one in Connecticut? How many do they have now?

This was my favorite expose yet. Such a solid narrative, and a good, easy reading flow. Your site almost makes you root for these guys. Your prose and storytelling is getting better and better.

Also good to hear a fun fact about Costello.

Correct they had 2 crews in MA, and 1 to 2 small crews in CT. They also had individual soldiers sprinkled across Upstate NY.

Thanks for that glowing endorsement BarrettM. Glad to hear you enjoyed it that much. I really enjoyed creating it I can tell you that much. I love it when I discover little known facts about these guys, or uncover the true activities of entire crews such as this. The Worcester crew was a very unique group of guys and town. They are one of the very few crews (as I mentioned in the story), that practically -0- was ever really uncovered about them.

Yes you'll hear about Mastrototaro, but thats really about it. So this research was really enjoyable and refreshing to me.

The Genovese family had two crews in MA: one in Springfield, and the other in Worcester.

Its amazing to read about the old days when Politicians and mobsters mingled together without worry. Also, for a guy that had to be well off yet still had stills. Shows you they made money off of those stills.

You can get the ray p. FBI files kn projo.com he inducts 6 guys in worcester in late 56. The scibelli brothers . Carlo m. Pinky and the other names are blacked out. I'm guessing he does this as a favor for iacone who just died. He inducts them at some social club and releases them all to the genovese family. Basically sam cufuri gets bumped to capo and all the new england soldiers report to him in springfield then. In the ray p files hes caught on wiretap in his office in the 60tys telling guys worcester is all his but out of respect for vito genovese he splits the dice game which was huge and numbers with them 60/40. The guy sam cufuri made some beef and ray tells the guy hes talking to I dont have to give them anything Worcester is mine. He had a few of his on guys there to it gets murky. Gut they worked hand an hand

Another great one. Really enjoyed the details. Always good to read about a successful wiseguy I've never heard of before.

Thanks Mighty. And I agree. Theres something about guys beating the system that has a certain intrigue to it. Especially guys who beat the system as well as Iaconi did. Lol

I never heard that story. If true, then Chester and Sully Iaconi had a set of balls on them!
