One of the best holidays of the year. Scary movies, candy, political signs, and raiding houses with corn. Guys get the action if the girls get scared of anything. Halloween is so greatttttttttttttttttttt. God, I love it. 11 more days people! 11 more days! -Pat

Some scary movie recommendations:
Halloween series (should be on TV near you)
Friday the 13th
Nightmare on Elm Street
Scream

Can't say it's my favorite holiday, but knowing it's coming up means Christmas is that much closer!

Is anyone dressing up? My friend is having a huge party, so I'm dressing up as Carmella, or just a generic mob wife. It's gonna be so much fun! I've got my outfit all planned out; NY accent and too-much-jewelry included (pray I don't get mugged on the way there... haha)! I can't wait! I hope it doesn't rain, it'll ruin my hair, and that's like half the effect right there! My friend lives in a gothic style house in Bel-Air, so it's gonna be fun decorating for the party, too!

What are everyone else's plans?

For Halloween, who's the one character you'd wanna be if you could find the "perfect costume?"
I'm wanna be Tony Montana, then Bill (from Kill Bill) and then probably Bill the Butcher

I saw Uma's yellow outfit from Kill Bill at a costume shop... but it was made of cheap-o fabric. If I found the real leather one of that, that would have been fun! (Not to mention sexy... lol)

Its a night of trick-or-treating with the boy. He wants me to dress up so I'm gonna be Marilyn Monroe. After our trick-or-treating, I'll probably just sit around the house eating his candy. So its me, the candy, and my old ritual of scary movies all night. I used to go to Blockbuster and rent all that was allowed, but since they think I owe them $115.00, it will have to be Movie Gallery this year.

Halloween is the biggest waste of time ever. The only joy I have is to make the kids cry during their trick and treating.

We're having a big party for Halloween. Since its on a Sunday, we'll have it on Saturday. Its not going to be a costume party or anything, just a major blow out with tons of kids. But it will pale in comparsion to what we're planning for New Year's Eve.

Last Halloween was a nightmare. We went to a party, only the host left us all to go to another party, leaving me in charge of the house (lucky me), which would have been all dandy but for the (Scream-)masked maniacs who kicked his front and back door in! Not too fond memories, I tell you!

Those of you wanting a scary film, check out Don't Look Now, and for some old fashioned horror: Nosferatu, The Cabinet of Dr Caligari.

For all you horror flick fans: AMC is showing the top horror flicks all week. Yesterday they had the Omen trilogy and by the previews will be showing all of the more famous ones. I know I like a good scary movie from time to time.

In the "spirit" of Halloween: After watching "The Omen" yesterday, they had a "back lot story" about the filming of this movie.

In the scene where Lee Remick and "cute" little Damien were in the car and all the monkeys started attacking remember? Evidently, Remick said she could drive a stickshift car, but wasn't too good at it, and when she tried to start it, it stalled and all the animals started approaching the car. Evidently they were not suppose to get that close, but they let the cameras roll. They said she was scared to death, and that her reaction in the film was truly horror. I thought that was interesting.

Lee Remick was a true beauty. She was up there with Lana Turner,Audrey Hepburn and Jessica Lange of being a classic beauty..I loved her in The Days of Wine and Roses.

Well, whether for Halloween or not, the BBC this week is playing some James Whale films, and even have a documentary caleld "Universal Horror" which traces the golden age of Universal Studios' horror films.

Today I saw The Old Dark House and Frankenstein, both of which are masterpieces. I also have Bride of Frankenstein to watch soon, and on Friday The Invisible Man is on, as well as The Wolf Man. Jolly good week of filmwatching I have!

And to top it all off, Pat (just for you), I'm going to watch the first two Halloweens on Sunday!

I remember liking it a lot. Although I always thought the beginnign with young Mike holding the knife while his parents just stared at him was a little corny. :p

Well, since Halloween falls on a Sunday, our town is having carnivals and things today and tomorrow. Dang, makes me wish I was still Codey's age so I could wear my halloween costume twice. Anyhow, Sunday is the day! Anybody got any confirmed plans?

I'm leaving the house in a little bit to go to my friend's party... and I think I'm going to stay only about 1 or 2 hours. I feel like crap, my leg hurts, and I can't really dress up. I'm going in jeans, tennis shoes, and a sweater. This sucks. A few weeks ago, I thought I was going to be all better by now, and I'm nowhere near that.

Sorry to be such a whiner, I know it could have been worse. At least I get to go, huh?

TIS, I saw that same thing last night! I was ready for a good scary movie, so when I saw that the Omen was coming on, I knew I had to watch it. It was the first time I had seen it, and it was really good. The Omen II came on afterward, and I tried to keep an eye on it, but I ended up missing too much to enjoy it at its full potential. I did see some of the "back lot story," however, and it was really interesting. I saw the part you were describing...isn't that scary? I was yelling at her during the movie to just drive off, and if I had been in her place as an actress, I certainly would have...forget the script! My mom just told me today that she had watched the behind the scenes show, as well, and she told me about another part. She said that the director asked the boy who played Damien not to smile at the end of the movie, and he told him that he wouldn't talk to him if he did...the boy tried not to, but he let a smile slip through, and the director loved it! Personally, I don't think it would've had the same effect on the viewer if he hadn't smiled...that's what made it so spooky. Anyway, I really enjoyed that movie. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see the entire sequel.

Right now I am watching "The Exorcist", which to me, is the number one scariest movie. As many times as I've seen it, I still get chills. The acting is good combined with the dark atmosphere and the chilling "evil" demon sounds adds to the scariness. The theme song Tubular Bells is the perfect music for this chiller.

BTW, Capo, I'd like to hear your review of this movie.

Oh, I remember the first time I saw The Exorcist! Oh, it was so scary! And a few years back, I think it was 2001, when they came out with the un-cut version *spoiler* when she walked down the stairs all spider like and opens her mouth and the blood comes out, that was so creepy *end spoiler* I love that movie!

I also watched The Exorcist today. It was on USA. I used to be really scared by it, to the point that I couldn't watch it (hey, I was like 10 ). But now I can enjoy it.

My gf is here right now, helping give out candy. She's really good with kids. I just hold the basket.

You know, all the clips I saw of the Exorcist over the years (especially as a younster) made me terrified to ever see it. Then one day a couple years ago I decided to watch it on cable - it just happened to be on. It really didn't scare me as much as the clips did, before I saw the whole thing.

The scariest movie for me for a long time was "The Fly" (the original one). I saw it when I was 10 and I couldn't sleep for months after that...

The trick-or-treaters this year were so cute!! I must be getting old, I'm starting to enjoy seeing all their cute little outfits!

Okay. I have a good recommendation for all you scary movie buffs out there. I just returned from my friend's house, and we watched a movie that she rented for us. It's called "Godsend" and it scared me SO much. I'll try to summarize it w/out giving away too much. It's got Bobby DeNiro in it who plays a doctor that helps this couple who have just lost their 8-year old son. He convinces them to let him attempt to clone the boy, and the mother soon gives birth to a "new" baby boy. Things are different, though. that's all I'm saying... Check it out, and tell me what you think... :p

Okay, I was just searching for the script because we missed a part of the movie, (the DVD was screwed up) and I stumbled across a review. Apparently it wasn't that great of a movie according to several critics...hey, it scared me! I guess I'm just easy...

Tonight I went trick or treating with a few of my good friends. We have all been together every halloween for like 10 years. Were all seniors, so we realized that this was the last year we would all be trick or treating togehter ( Considering this time next year we will all be piss drunk in diferent sections of the country). So it was a little sentimental. Good news is we got a shit load of candy

Gee, aren't you a bit old for that kind of stuff. Around here if you are a teen, they don't come a knocking.

Around here the young kids trick or treat from 6-9 PM only.
