In 1984, a young Michael Mancuso fatally shot his wife and left her to die on a park bench outside the Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. Today he is the boss of a family. My question is how come there wasn't any pushback from other mobsters in regards to his becoming a boss? Even within the mafia, I would've thought something like this would make someone persona non grata, or at the least, restrict them from gaining power.

Has this ever been used against him by rivals?

I invoke my right under the 5th amendment of the United States constitution and decline to answer the question.

Your question reminded me of a video on YouTube that kind of mentions this. The person being interviewed was a former convict who did numerous years in federal prison. Although much has been said about how prisoners despise rapists and crimes against women, there is an exception. Believe it or not, many men who murder their wives are often given a pass in jail. Remember, many wives and girlfriends eventually dump their partners when they are in the can. All that time in jail can easily deteriorate a relationship. So when prisoners hear of someone killing their wife, their attitude is, "they had it coming." Now, if the wife is pregnant, or if you murder a child, you can be marked for death in jail pretty quick.

I don't think it was ever established why Mancuso killed his wife in the first place. I heard it was an argument, Mancuso's lawyer claimed it was an accident (well what else will they say). I suppose if his wife was cheating on him, others in the mob would chalk it up as him just defending his honor. Who knows. What blows my mind is that Mancuso got remarried (an article stated that before he went to prison again, his daughter was about to receive her first communion). Who the hell would want to marry someone who murdered his first spouse? Well there's always someone crazier out there...

1 thing that came out in the current lucchese trial was vic amuso wouldnt recognize mancuso as official boss. never found out why. the bonannos stormed a bronx social with madonna inside i think or atleast other members. thats when crea drove up and wasnt allowed in the club. lot of people where way off on the vic amuso isnt the boss anymore seems like he is well respected and is the final say to this day. he is the last boss in america to be appointed by the commission or bascially tony ducks chin and persico i doubt gotti had any say in 86 he just killed paul

I have another question could he be related to Serafino and Giuseppe Mancuso, brothers from Alcamo, Sicily? They had ties to the French Connection supplying the Mafia in USA and Italy with heroin. Partners of Frank Coppola and Morris Shatz.
