In terms of Mexico, at least the sicarios it seems the life revolves around checking people for possible inflatrators and enemies. They regularly patrol the streets with halcones checking the routines of the Mexican military patrols etc., they party hard and buy their luxuries such. I heard the average life span of a sicario and other members possibly(don't know) is 3 years. It seems like a party hard, short life span. Well I don't know the average life span of a sicario but I doubt it's long, depending on their role and where they are send. Though the majority of the dead are not sicarios but halcones and drug dealers or "punteros", they are the most vulnareable to killings. Not sure about sicarios but sicarios do live a dangerous life and risky one too. How is the life of a member of a mafia family member though?

Not so well. In sicilian mafia if you are a boss or high ranking members risk harsh sentenced at 41 bis or for avoid it you must go on the lam for years if someone don't flip before. In the ndrangheta the bosses built many bunkers and some of them risked to get blind for dont go out and risk to get captured. The worst situation is in the Camorra where even in the most powerful clans there are so many rats that they turned to street rackets like the pizzo or weed trafficking because at least risk to get few years.
