Looks like it is based on Genovese mobster Jimmy Galante who bought his son a hockey team in Connecticut.

Looks like Sports Illustrated did a short documentary on this story a few years back. Super interesting video, only about 15 mins long. Galante was pretty brazen to be that high profile while being a mob associate. Not sure what he was expecting to happen.

FX has some great shows. I’m not a big fan of the new Mayans show but I’m coming around to it. On the other hand I love Mr Inbetween
