Is anyone else as obsessed with this movie as I am!? I've gotta say that I LOVE this movie. The 2nd one just came out on DVD on Tuesday, and I kinda skipped through it last night (I'm gonna watch all of it tonight), and I just fell in love with it all over again. I know I've seen this only 4 months ago, but these movies kick a$$! To me it's my favorite Tarantino movie, followed by Jackie Brown, Pulp Fiction, and finally Reservoir Dogs.

I finally saw Vol 2 after I bought it yesterday (If you get it at Best Buy, you get a free box that holds both movies - but you gotta hurry!)

I loved Vol 1 cuz I'm a sucker for martial arts sequences. Vol 2 is different, it's more of a Western. Which is fine and all, and there are still some decent martial arts fight scenes, but whenever I thought there was going to be a huge fight scene, it always seemed to end abruptly (tho in a cool way).

But I did like all the flashbacks - it really brought the two movies together into one complete epic.

I am also obessed with this movie(s).
Volume Two just came in the mail today. I can't wait to watch it this weekend!
Though this isn't my favorite Tarantino. Pulp will always take the cake.

Haven't seen Vol. 2 yet. Comes out at the end of this month. I loved Vol. 1; Tarantino at his most enjoyable, if not most ingeneous. I still think they should've released it as one film though.

I loved Vol. 2 better than vol. 1.

I'm gonna wait for the special editions to come out (which sucks b/c I gotta wait until next year), but my friend snagged me a free box anyways!

Mick, I'm glad that they split it into 2 movies. I think 4 hours would be too long & hard to sit through for me. But I do agree with the Don, I also loved the black/white flashback sequences. I'm soooooooo glad they casted David Carradine as Bill & not Warren Beatty! David was THE MAN!

I didn't know the special editions were even annoucned for next year. Man, I might have to buy them as I love the entire series. Taratino says he has a great idea for another sequel. Prequel would be much easier to make.

JGeoff, what are the chances of getting that box tomorrow at my Best Buy.

I bought Vol.2 last night and loved it. The first one may have been more action filled, but the second one was definetly the better film. Best movie I have seen in a while. 10/10

I love these films too. I am impatiently waiting for them to release them as a boxed Special Edition set which I am sure will happen once everyone buys both DVDs separetly. I'll be holding out though.

Good idea. You've convinced me to wait as well.

I heard this awhile ago & I REALLY hope that Quentin does it. He was planning on making an anime which would be a prequel to Kill Bill. If he does though, he needs to get Sonny Chiba & David Carradine back to do voices. But I heard he might write the anime. I'm so looking forward to it if he does!

It pains me to make this statement but I was not too thrilled with Kill Bill Vol 1. In fact I was disappointed. I will give it another viewing when it is shown on cable, and then give Vol 2 a try.

I am a Tarantino fan and have enjoyed his films but Kill Bill did not live up to the promise and expectations from the young film director that made Reservoir Dogs over twelve years ago. Like I said I do enjoy his films

Reservoir Dogs- A very good film
Pulp Fiction- A great film, blown away the first time I saw it
Jackie Brown- A good film
Kill Bill Vol 1- OK

I wouldn’t say that he is overrated, but I do think he has slipped. He has a very small body of work so a slip certainly cannot go un-noticed. I know he is very fascinated with 70’s pop culture, but I think he could have waited to get a few more films under his belt before he made his homage to martial arts films. Right from the beginning of the film with that

“ Quentin Tarantino’s Forth Film”

What the hell was that, like I should be honored to view the upcoming film from a self anointed film genius? My expectations were set very high but all I got was a cross between Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon & Charlie’s Angels Full Throttle.

Also I loved the writing of True Romance,

I’m sorry

Great films, seeing them both on the big screen was a treat. I like Vol. 1 a bit more, but Vol. 2 is great too. I've held out to buy them, and I hope that the rumors about the special editions are true though.

ScarfaceRH, the rumors are true. Quentin has said so himself that special editions are coming (so has Miramax)

I am glad that they split them into two different films. If they had made it all one big film, it would not have worked, because Volume one and Volume two were completely different films. If it had been one film, it would be terribly uneven.

I thought David Carradine was great, but I think Warren Beatty would have done a good job as well. But, Kevin Costner, who was also considered, would have been horrible in my opinion.

Not being much of a martial arts fan I wasn't too blown away at the thought of Kill Bill. I enjoy Tarantino pics much though so I had to give it a viewing.
I LOVED it and am so glad I watched it, just wished I had bothered to sooner :p
I haven't seen vol 2 yet but heard it's far different to the first but still as good and a good ending for the story.

I don't mean to be the deadbeat either, but I was quite disappointed with this film. I finally saw Volume 1 about a week ago, and I've heard a ton of hype about it before viewing it. It had a lot of good martial arts scenes, but the whole thing steered too far away from reality in my opinion. Blood was used in excess to the point where it just seemed.....well....over the top.

Before you all attack me, keep in mind that I didn't dislike this film enough to actually hate it. I just wasn't blown away by it, and had a hard time believing the content of the scenes that contribute to the film's plot. Call me crazy.

I have mixed feelings about Kill Bill. I think the plot is great, and I just love the action sequences. But then there's my point about the music. Using popmusic instead of letting a compser compose a full soundtrack for you is ok with me, but using soundtracks from other movies like The Good, The Bad And Ugly is to me just unethical, considering the fact that QT, as a filmbuff wanted to make his own "tribute".

I loved the use of the TGTBATU music. I felt it was the perfect music for the monent, and I doubt that he was trying to "steal" it. He knew that people would recognize the song.

I honestly hated these films. Ebert says it's the best of the year. Are movies better now when they don't take themselves seriously, and have no virtual plot? I don't know.

Tarantino is basically a one-hit wonder. I wasn't impressed with many of his films, and yet he's compared to Scorsese and Coppola as a mob-esque directing genius. Tarantino is almost good enough to take tickets at a Scorsese film's premiere.

Since I last purchased Vol. 2, I must have watched it about 10 times. To me this is just one of those movies you can watch over and over and over again without getting tired of it. I think Im going to watch it again tonight actually

Me too. I must have popped it in about 5-10 times since getting it! The first one was better, but I LOVE htis movie because there's more of David Carradine's character in it!

These are, IMO, among the best films to come out in the last decade. I personally don't care what other people think of Quentin Tarantino, I think the man's a f*cking genius. R-Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, the Kill Bill films, and this new Japanese film he has out, can't quite think of the name right now. It's not really fair to compare Quentin to the likes of Coppola and Scorsese, based on the types of films they make. They are compared, simply because neither of these three directors have ever made a truly terrible, big-budget film. They are each individual masters of their craft, and that's why they are compared. I like Vol 2 better than the first film, simply because it fills in all the plot holes from the first film. And from watching the second film, I now appreciate the first film much more than before I saw the sequel. Awesome movies, just brilliant!

I'm not a fan of the Kill Bill series. I saw the 1st one after my friends begged me to see it. I can give it no more then a 6/10. I did rent the 2nd one tonight, but haven't gotten around to watching it yet. -Pat

I didn't like the first volume as much as Tarantino's other works but the 2nd volume was a really good movie.
