Just wondering how much the average New York soldier earns?

Joseph Defede estimated $5k per week for low level soldiers but that was years ago. What about now?

NO WAY is it near $250,000 today.

Have no clue what it is. I am sure there are successful soldiers as well as struggling.

$5000 per week isnt that much money. Yeah there will be big earners and broksters but I was wondering what the average soldier takes home.

Its impossible to made an average sum of money. If a made man is a bookie earn some $$$ a week but if he is also a robber or extort stripclubs will earn a different sum and if investimenti in legitimate activities will earn another sum. In fact there are made men that are very rich and others that are always broke. You must see case by case.

My impression is if you're a guy who inherited someone else's book, or tied in with a union or something else you get a skim from, or can use a restaurant/bar to funnel money in and out of, you might be doing just fine (and I think this happens with the relatives of some of these guys--they get handed a living that's pretty comfortable). On the other hand, I think a lot of younger guys have to scrap pretty hard to have decent income--especially if they have a greedy capo or boss who demands more of a taste--which is what leads to the overlap with coke/heroin/weed; that's the easiest way to make a buck, even if you're just on the financing side.

I remember in Philly at one point it came out that George Borgesi, while supposedly consigliere, was involved in a scam with the body-shop guy, Galati, where Galati would copy the keys to a car, then Borgesi would go out later and steal it, and then drive around downtown and ram it into the car of another Galati customer, thereby insuring two more customers for Galati and getting Borgesi a couple hundred bucks in his pocket in reward. I think that is a classic case of the divide in the mob--I mean, no one can imagine Neil Dellacroce doing this sort of mickey mouse stuff; it was obvious Borgesi was scrapping for every penny he could get.

Yeah it's really unlikely, I think IvyLeague said that some of the soldiers live with their moms(house) while other have their own apartment or living space. The cartel soldiers in Mexico are paid peanuts compared to what the captains, plaza bosses and regional bosses earn.
