A Blackberry phone found in Dubai in December 2019 during Ridouan Taghi's arrest contained photos of a naked, tortured woman. The authorities believe the woman is Naima Jilal, who went missing in October 2019.

The Dutch woman was one of the top figures in the Mocro mafia and made more enemies than she deserved with her 'cocaine transport charter company' - and she made millions.

Three frontmen of the banned motorcycle club No Surrender have been sentenced on appeal again to years in prison for leading a criminal organization. They were also found guilty of extortion and theft with violence.

Former captain Henk Kuipers received the highest penalty again: 8.5 years. That is lower than the ten years he received from the court, but according to the court it amounts to the same in practice, because the rules for early release have changed in the meantime. Now convicts can be released up to two years before the end of their prison sentence, that was after previously after serving two-thirds.

Founder Klaas Otto has to go to jail for three years, as does ‘captain’ Rico R., the ANP reports. A fourth No Surrender member was given a 30-month sentence, 20 of which were suspended.

An entrepreneur was also charged. He enlisted Kuipers’ help in extorting business relations and was sentenced to 22 months in prison, 15 of which were conditional.

Gigantic arsenal found during arrest Mink Kok, also rocket launchers
Yesterday, 19:46
in INTERIOR

AMSTERDAM - The police in Lebanon appears to have found an enormous arsenal of weapons with the Amsterdam criminal Mink K. (60), after his recent arrest in Beirut. He was arrested with his son-in-law Najim Z. (41) for a drug case, but during house searches the police found dozens of heavy weapons, including rocket launchers. That reports Het Parool.

The weapons discovery was not made public because Lebanon and the Netherlands are still in diplomatic consultations about whether Lebanon will prosecute the suspects because of the weapons or whether the Netherlands will add the weapons case to the drug case if the two are handed over to the Netherlands.

Mink K. has been a gun enthusiast all his adult life. He was prosecuted twice in the Netherlands for possession of large quantities of war equipment. On March 31, K. and his son-in-law were arrested in Beirut, at the request of the police and justice in the Netherlands. The duo are accused of large-scale drug trafficking from South America to the Netherlands.

Dutch intelligence service using controversial Israeli hacking software
Dutch intelligence service AIVD uses controversial hacking software from the Israeli company NSO Group, the Volkskrant reported based on information from four sources. The AIVD used the software to break into Ridouan Taghi's phone, among other things, according to the newspaper.

Taghi is the main suspect in the massive assassinations trial Marengo. According to the newspaper's sources, the AIVD used the Pegasus software to track him down late in 2019. The police arrested Taghi in Dubai in December 2019. The sources did not say what role the software played in the arrest.

Well-known criminal Sjaak Burger detained after weapons find
By JOHN VAN DEN HEUVEL

Updated 6 min ago

in INTERIOR

AMSTERDAM - One of the four men arrested last week in connection with a large arms find in Rijsenhout is the well-known and infamous Amsterdam professional criminal Sjaak Burger.

He is seen by the police and the judiciary as one of the leaders of the so-called polder penoze and in recent years has invariably been featured in major investigations into organized crime. In the eyes of the Public Prosecution Service, he also has connections with the Mocromafia and is considered a contact of the infamous Remmers family.

Sjaak Burger is seen as the 'master of arms' of the Amsterdam underworld and was convicted in 1994 for manslaughter in a cafe in Badhoevedorp. He himself was the target of an attack in January 2015. Burger was then in a restaurant in Panama, where he was shot in the head from behind.

Burger was seriously injured but survived the assassination attempt. After months of stay in hospitals, he had to stand trial in the Netherlands in the Passage process, including on suspicion of committing an attack on Heineken kidnapper Cor van Hout.

Exactly the same day
In the end, Burger was sentenced to 5.5 years himself for arms trafficking. Cor van Hout was liquidated on January 24, 2003 in Amstelveen. The attack on Burger was on the exact same day, but twelve years later. The police are still considering revenge for the murder of Van Hout, but also do not rule out Burger in Panama was shot in a conflict over cocaine trade.

The police retraced Sjaak Burger at the end of 2021 thanks to messages from cracked PGP telephones from the Sky ECC platform. After an investigation, a warehouse in Rijsenhout came into view as a location where firearms were possibly stored. A raid followed on Monday 30 May, in which a large number of weapons were found. These are automatic and so-called sniper weapons and explosives.

The police also found a cocaine laundry with many chemicals and several kilograms of coke and amphetamine. All suspects have been brought before the examining magistrate.

In the coming weeks, public prosecutors will pronounce the indictment in the Marengo trial against Ridouan Taghi and sixteen co-defendants in the secure court in Amsterdam-Osdorp. Ten days have been planned for the indictment, on June 28 the officers will conclude with the sentences. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the seventeen suspects have been members of a criminal organization that has committed six liquidations and made four attempts to liquidate people. In addition, there have been three liquidation preparations and two attempts to detonate an explosive device. One of the suspects is crown witness Nabil B..

Wednesday morning the suspects were obliged by the court to come, only Saïd R. followed the case via a video connection. The public prosecutors realized that the room was full of suspects, but that relatives were completely absent. According to the officers, there was not a single next of kin who dared to exercise the right to speak.

It concerns the relatives of spyshop director Ronald Bakker (59), Samir Erraghib (36), Abderrahim Belhadj (29), Ranko Scekic (45), Martin Kok (49) and Hakim Changachi (31). Four of the victims left behind (young) children.

The judiciary came to the conclusion that there was one network that was led by Ridouan Taghi. And the judiciary also concludes that more murders have been committed than were charged in the Marengo trial.

Justice believes that every member of the organization bears full responsibility for what has happened in the name of the organization. "So there is no innocent or insignificant contribution in that regard." It seems that later in the indictment, the judiciary will state that in many cases the suspects committed the murders together, ie co-perpetration.

After the indictment is completed on June 28, pleas from lawyers for the suspects will follow after the summer until the end of 2022. In addition, the court is dealing with the pending case against Saïd R., who is accused of the same facts. The trial will certainly not be completed in 2022, the suspects may hear the verdict in 2023.

The top criminal Henk Rommy, also known as the Black Cobra, who is suspected of a double murder, is allowed to await his trial in freedom. The Amsterdam court determined this on Friday.

The Amsterdam court today suspended the pre-trial detention of Rommy (71), because she expects that the handling of his criminal case will take too long. He stated that he himself had health problems, because of a heart condition. This writes Het Parool on Friday afternoon.

Rommy returned to the Netherlands at the end of January last year, after being imprisoned in the United States for almost sixteen years for preparing for ecstasy smuggling. He was arrested in Spain in 2003 and extradited to the US two years later, where he was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

In 2015, it was already announced that Rommy was still facing prosecution, as justice suspects him of ordering the 1993 double murder of Lebanese diamond seller and hashish dealer Henie Shamel (55) and his girlfriend Anne de Witte (44) in Antwerp.

Rommy would have had a debt of one million euros with Shamel, which he wanted to get rid of. Shamel and his girlfriend were shot at close range in a car in the center of Antwerp. They died from their injuries a few days later.

Dutch mayors make impassioned plea for stronger government action against ‘mafia-style’ drug crime
Mayors of Amsterdam and Rotterdam paint a troubled picture of the Netherlands in written appeal for help

Fri Jun 17 2022 - 18:39

In an unprecedented step, the mayors of the two largest cities in the Netherlands have appealed in writing to the Dutch government to take tougher action against organised drugs crime, warning that it’s assuming mafia-style proportions aimed at “weakening our democratic legal system”.

The joint letter to parliament from Amsterdam’s mayor, Femke Halsema, and her counterpart in Rotterdam, Ahmed Aboutaleb, is a reflection of the apparent vulnerability of one of Europe’s richest societies to the “increasing wealth and power” of its own drugs underworld.

In an observation that may raise a few eyebrows in Rome, the letter underlines the emergence of what it calls “a criminal culture of violence that’s acquiring Italian features” following the killings of lawyer Derk Wiersum in 2019 and crime journalist Peter R de Vries last year.

The Italian reference comes following a fact-finding visit to Rome last week by justice minister Dilan Ye?ilgöz-Zegeriusilan and D66 MP Franc Weerwind to study the security measures taken since the infamous murders of anti-mafia judges Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino in Sicily in summer 1992.

At the end of their visit, the minister said the murders of the two judges had been a turning point, after which Italian society as a whole had rejected the mafia, creating room for new legislation, particularly Article 416bis, which banned all contact with the outside world for imprisoned mafiosi. That turning point had not yet been reached in the Netherlands, she said. “The outrage was short-lived and the step up to a similar type of action did not take place.”

‘Narco-state’
In their letter, Ms Halsema and Mr Aboutaleb paint a troubled picture of the Netherlands as a country where journalists, lawyers, politicians and holders of public office needed police protection, sometimes 24 hours a day, where homes were being shot at and people attacked.

“This is no longer a matter of short vicious turf wars for control of the drugs trade spilling over into wider society occasionally,” the mayors say.

“The fact is that international drugs trafficking and the money laundering that goes with it are hugely increasing the wealth and power of the drugs underworld, with violent consequences.

“We are now seeing violence as calculated displays of power, with the intention of weakening our democratic legal system.”

Similar warnings have come from Jan Struijs of the police union, NPB, who described the Netherlands as “a narco-state” where drug crime was “rotting the pillars of society”.

Under pressure after the De Vries shooting, then justice minister Ferd Grapperhaus conceded that “excessive violence” against politicians, lawyers or journalists was “no longer a taboo”.

Last month, the Netherlands dropped from six to 28 in the Reporters Without Borders index of journalists’ safety.

Known drug criminal Mink K. extradited to the Netherlands
Top criminal Mink K., together with his son-in-law Najim Z., has been extradited from Lebanon to the Netherlands. The two were picked up on Saturday by a defense aircraft and transferred to the Netherlands under the supervision of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. Mink K. was arrested March 31 in Beirut for large-scale drug trafficking from South America to the Netherlands. An enormous arsenal of weapons was also found.

Domestic editors 20-06-22, 10:17 Last update: 11:15 am
Today, the Amsterdam criminal and his son-in-law will be brought before the examining magistrate in Rotterdam, who will decide on their remand, confirms his lawyer Mark Teurlings.

The Public Prosecution Service suspects both men of involvement in large-scale international drug trafficking. Based on intercepted PGP messages from cracked crypto communications, the Public Prosecution Service believes that the men are involved in transporting hundreds of kilograms of cocaine from South America to the Netherlands. They are associated with consignments of 750 and 840 kilos of cocaine intercepted in the ports of Antwerp and Rotterdam.

Prosecutor demands life against Taghi, co-suspects in assassinations trial
Update 2:30 p.m. - Article updated with more details

On Tuesday, the Public Prosecution Service (OM) demanded life in prison against Ridouan Taghi in the extensive Marengo assassinations trial. According to the OM, the 44-year-old Taghi is responsible for six murders and four attempted murders, among other things. “He was the head of an organization dedicated to committed murders,” the prosecutor said. “He was the one who made all the decisions.”

The OM also demanded life sentences against four co-defendants. This concerns the brothers Mao and Mario R. (47 and 42), Mohamed R. (40), and Achraf B. (29). According to the OM, they were involved in multiple murders or attempted murders and were ranked high in Taghi’s organization. The sentence demand against another alleged accomplice of Taghi, Said R. (Mohamed R.’s older brother), will be made later in the criminal case.

About Taghi, the prosecutor said: “All the lines of the different murders converge on him. He makes all the decisions, and they are about life and death. Taghi has left a trail of devastation and grief and exercised total control and terror.” According to the judiciary, he was “particularly persistent - once on a hit list, someone couldn’t get off it.” The sentence demands against the other suspects varied from almost six years to over 26 years in prison.

The indictment, which lasted nine days, was the preliminary climax to the massive trial, which began in March 2018 with a first introductory hearing. Then the judiciary announced it had a key witness - Nabil B., who said he belonged to Taghi’s gang and regretted it. He made a series of statements against his former accomplices in exchange for a reduced sentence. The OM demanded ten years in prison against him on Tuesday.

Less than a week after that first hearing in March 2018, B.’s brother Reduan was shot dead. In September 2019, B.’s lawyer Derk Wiersum was murdered. And in July last year, Peter R. de Vries was shot dead after he acted as advisor and confidant to B. These three murders are not part of the Marengo trial.

Airspace above EBI in Vught closed due to risk of escapes
Today at 4:56 PM • Updated today at 7:17 PM

The airspace above the Extra Secure Institution in Vught will be closed from 1 July due to an increased risk of flight attempts by air. This is happening at the request of the mayor Van de Mortel of Vught and the minister Weerwind for Legal Protection. There are several serious criminals in the EBI, including Ridouan Taghi.

The airspace above the EBI will be closed up to an altitude of approximately 450 meters and within a radius of 3.7 kilometers. The measure will take effect on July 1 and will remain in effect until at least January 1. For example, the measure should prevent aerial photos from being taken of the EBI, but also weapons, narcotics and means of communication from being smuggled in.

No acute threat
According to an EBI spokesperson, there would be no acute threat or risk of an attempt to escape. It would also have nothing to do with the trial against Ridouan Taghi, which also took place in Amsterdam today. There, the Public Prosecution Service demanded a life sentence against him.

Five people have been arrested for the murder of a Dutchman in Spain at the beginning of this year. The victim's body was found in January near Chiclana de la Frontera, not far from the city of Cádiz.

The Spanish police, the Guardia Civil, released the arrests on Wednesday, without naming the victim. It is therefore not clear whether it concerns the murder of the Utrecht drug trafficker Ebrahim Buzhu. The Public Prosecution Service cannot confirm this. "It is a Spanish investigation," said a spokesman for the National Public Prosecutor's Office. Buzhu was liquidated in Chiclana in January.

The Spanish news site ABC does mention his name and also mentions Buzhu's nickname: The Butcher. His origin is also mentioned.

According to the service, the shot Dutchman was "executed with a shot to the head to settle a bill for drug trafficking". After the murder, the getaway car was set on fire elsewhere in Chiclana. According to Spain, the victim was involved in the hashish trade between the Costa del Sol, the Netherlands and France.

The identity of the suspects has not yet been released. Two of them are suspected of murder, membership of a criminal organization and illegal possession of weapons. The three others would have helped. According to the Guardia Civil, the suspects traveled from the Netherlands to Málaga and rented the car used in the murder there.

Buzhu was a key witness against alleged top criminal Ridouan Taghi. In 2015, the Utrechter was the first to tell the police how powerful Taghi had become.

The main suspect Delano R. has also been sentenced to life in prison. According to the court, he had a leading role in an organization that had made the liquidation of people a "earning model". According to the court, R. showed no hesitation, regret or remorse.

In addition to R., the Public Prosecution Service had demanded life imprisonment against four others.

'FBI warned the Netherlands: Taghi communicated with mafia boss from prison'
Ridouan Taghi has had contact with the outside world several times from the Extra Secure Institution (EBI) in Vught, while he should have been in complete seclusion. According to NRC , it was the American security service FBI who pointed this out to the Netherlands in November last year.

It was already known that the judiciary suspects his cousin and former lawyer Youssef Taghi of having passed on messages from Ridouan from prison. NRC now writes that Taghi also had contact with the outside world from the Extra Secure Institution (EBI) before Youssef's arrival.

He is said to have had contact with an accomplice, the Italian mafia boss Raffaele Imperiale, in November 2020 using a crypto phone. He in turn was in contact with Taghi's son. The FBI noticed this and warned the Netherlands. According to the American security service, it did not stop at one contact, but there would be regular communication from the EBI. Taghi received help from one or more prison guards.

The 44-year-old owner of a well-known clothing brand from Amsterdam has been arrested for drug trafficking and money laundering. The Public Prosecution Service reports this today. It concerns Domenico Giannattasio from Purmerend, who runs clothing brand My Brand . The man, who lives in Purmerend, came into the picture during an ongoing drug investigation.
The detectives already searched his home last month. In addition, 228,000 euros in cash was found. In addition to the money, a firearm and luxury goods, including a classic car and watches, were also seized. The man was abroad during the search and last week turned himself in to the police of his own accord, where he was arrested.
In August last year , G. 's very expensive Bentley Bentayga burned down in Zaandam. He then said in the paper that he had no idea who might be behind it. It is not yet clear whether the fire is related to this case, but is under investigation by the police. The catalog value of the car is over two tons.
The fashion brand, which Domenico G. founded with his brother Giovanni, was popular with football players and other celebrities for some time . The style was described as bling bling by one fashion magazine .

He's def unique in the history of oc in Holland, ten years ago he was a nobody. He wouldn't collaborate but a psychological research should be done.

Man shot dead in Antwerp, victim and suspects possibly Dutch

A man was shot and killed in Antwerp on Friday evening. It may be a Dutchman and the suspects are also Dutch, Belgian media report. According to witnesses, seven shots were fired.

The shooting incident happened on a public road in the Deurne district, near the Sportpaleis. The man was found on the sidewalk in front of a house, Het Laatste Nieuws reports . "Emergency services have tried to resuscitate the victim, but they were not successful," said a police spokesperson.

The area has been closed off and the police have found a car with a Dutch registration, which may belong to the victim. Agents are still looking for another car with a Dutch registration number in which the suspects allegedly fled.

Four Dutch men caught in Antwerp with explosives, firearm
A group of Dutch men with explosives and a gun were arrested in the Bogerhuit district of Antwerp early Tuesday morning. They were caught near a restaurant owned by the family of kickboxer Jamal Ben Saddik which was previously targeted in attacks.

The arrest happened at about 5 a.m., authorities in the Belgian city confirmed to HLN. “Police stopped a suspicious vehicle and proceeded to check it. A firearm and incendiary bombs were found in the car. The four young Dutchmen were arrested,” said Kato Belmans from the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office.

Their intention was still under investigation. They will be interrogated before the case is handed over to an examining magistrate.

The car was stopped near the Poke Bowl Place on Stenenbrug. Earlier this summer, two men were arrested after a Kalashnikov was used to fire gunshots at the building. A week later, someone kicked open the door of the building and threw a firebomb inside, HLN reported. They also scrawled the word “thief” on the shutters.

The kickboxer’s brother, Saïd Ben Saddik, is rumored to have stolen some or all of a drug shipment in the past. Poke Bowl Place is also located where the drug crime suspect used to house the Belhuis mobile phone shop, where he sold encrypted mobile phones allegedly using the Sky ECC service.

Authorities in the Netherlands claimed to have hacked the Sky ECC service, which the company denied, before the Sky server was seized. Antwerp officials similarly cracked down on the Sky ECC network.

However Dutch police infiltrated Sky ECC, whether by phishing or by a hack, it has led to several arrests in the Dutch drug gang underworld. The gangs are often linked to investigations not only at the Rotterdam port and elsewhere in the Netherlands, but also at the Port of Antwerp.

Razzouki hinted at Van den Heuvel attack
By OUR REPORTERS

Updated Yesterday, 5:08 PM
AMSTERDAM - Said Razzouki – according to justice the right-hand man of Ridouan Taghi – made serious threats against crime reporter John van den Heuvel of De Telegraaf via a PGP telephone from his cell in Colombia.

The arrested Razzouki in Medellin.

This is apparent from recent official reports, which were added to the Marengo file last week. The PGP phone was found two years ago in the cell of Razzouki, who had been tracked down and arrested in Colombia.

The Netherlands Forensic Institute only recently managed to crack the telephone and came across a conversation between Razzouki and a co-defendant about an alleged collaboration between Van den Heuvel and key witness Nabil B.

Razzouki then says in a conversation about Van den Heuvel: “That's why that dog John has to pay. He thinks he is safe now. I hope he moves more (…). Yes brother, really a dirty dog ??but you just have to work hard. I hope I'll be here for a few years so we can hunt well because it's been quiet for too long."

Van den Heuvel was informed last week by the police and the Public Prosecution Service about the conversation, which according to the judiciary may indicate that Razzouki is hinting at an assassination attempt with 'that John must pay'. Razzouki apparently hoped to stay in Colombia even longer so that he could better 'hunt' for Van den Heuvel from there.

'Illegal cell activities'
Van den Heuvel about the threatening messages: “This does not surprise me. It is yet another proof that some suspects in the Marengo case also continue to engage in illegal activities from prison. I am happy with the good protection by the DKDB, but unfortunately it is not only possible from Colombia but also from Dutch prisons to continue criminal activities. Incidentally, it is complete nonsense that I worked with Nabil B. or with an 'alliance'. It just reflects the paranoid and criminal mindset of some criminals.”

De Telegraaf revealed in September 2020 that the PGP telephones and two regular devices had been found in Razzouki's Colombian cell shortly before. The main suspect in the Marengo trial was extradited to the Netherlands in December 2021. Razzouki was arrested on February 7, 2020 after a manhunt by a special team of the Colombian police. Undercover agents found him after a months-long operation at a shelter in Colombia's cocaine capital, Medellín.

After his surrender, Razzouki was placed in the Extra Secure Institution in Vught. He still resides there. Many more leaders of the mocromafia are now imprisoned in Vught. One of them is Ridouan Taghi, who is suspected by the Public Prosecution Service of plotting serious crimes and an escape from the EBI. He communicated with a cousin, who is a lawyer. For example, the two were able to communicate with each other for months because conversations between a lawyer and a client may not be overheard.
