I've heard that some OC meetings still occur at this place and that the owner(s) are connected. I've heard this info from a few sources. Does anyone have any knowledge about what's currently going on there or the history of the place? Seems like Belleville still has a decent OC presence. I'm looking forward to the replies.

The Belleville/Nutley/Bloomfield area in general is a LCN hotbed, LOTS of LCN activity in the area!

Ive been to 3 weddings there plus a baptism. Its been there forever, right down the street ( 4 blocks) from Nannina's.
Acoss the street from Nicky " skins" laundrymat before he went bad. Antonio's pastry was across the street.
Belleville is shot. Nutley is still nice. Most of the belleville/ north newark guys live in the suburbs.

You can add Lincoln Ave. in Orange to the list of activity in the area. I know some disagree but it's there. I wont say "hotbed" because there's no way of quantifying that definition. I'll just say those areas have a presence.

Orange is a predominately Black city man, I've never heard or personally witnessed any recent activity in Orange. I used to hang out at the Star Tavern in Orange from time to time in 2012-2014 too. Maybe 40 years ago man but not in 2017. Star Tavern is a great spot though, love it there......

The star tavern is now owned by Greeks. No mob activity whatsoever.
Lincoln ave??? A few legitimate ( legal) clubs but again, no mob activity. I am extremely familiar with that area. Where are you guys getting this information...
There are a few green horns living in the area but nothing more. All the italiams lived in the valley and thats all black now.

Wow I haven't been there in 10 years , was decent wedding spot I guess but haven't thought about that place in awhile

U right South side of Belleville is basically north Newark now . Bang east on Joralemon and go to Me and Tommy , DL spot with some great rice balls.

You seem like a good kid. However, if someone on this board said there are mob guys eating dinner in Des Moines Iowa, you would be on the first flight there.
I used to get the same rush from gambling as you get from visiting suspected mob hangouts. You are all over the map when it comes to these so called bars and restaurants you just happen to venture into by chance. I think you methodically map these places out and literally stalk wiseguys.
How many times did you go to south philly with the hopes of seeing a philly guy?

Aces....You seem to be pretty in tune with OC stuff, current and in the past. I'd also heard that Cores Bar on Franklin St. in Bloomfield was connected back in the day. Any info you'd care to share if you know?

Presence today is a bunch of guys having internet sports books , which can be anywhere in that area w 90% of the guys just being regular folks that like to gamble or make a few extra $ on the side. Can't really be out in the open anymore , and that even true in most hoods as well so it's not just an OC thing

The days of guys whacking up stolen goods at a bar are pretty much over . Tho around x mas time u can get some pretty decent knock offs at an Italian place or 2 , w the matching catalog to boot lol .

Cores has been on the corner of franklin st for years. Back in the day there were quite a few italian deli's / stores that i woukd frequent. Thay area is very Fillipino now.
As far as OC guys at Cores??? You gotta remember a lot of guys lived in and around silver lake. Bobby C and hia crew, higgins, and about a thousand other guys. Forgot about Blackie, he was in that area as was Pee wee and Phil.
