I was working tonight, and this guy comes up to the carryout counter at the resturant I work at.

He ordered a milkshake and said that was it, and I read him his total, like I do tons of times every day I work. "4.98," I said, and then it hit me. I was really about to charge this guy almost 5 dollars for a shake.

I instantly remembered Travolta's shock in Pulp Fiction when Uma Thurman ordered a 5 dollar shake, and here was this guy paying for it like nothing out of the ordinary.

I mean it has been 11 years since Pulp Fiction, but wow, a 5 dollar shake is now considered pretty normal! I guess.

Anyone here a Cranberries fan? Ive only heard 2 of their songs, Linger and Ode to My Family, and I really like them both. Any suggestions?

Yeah mate and you've probably heard more songs by them and don't realise, namely Dreams and Zombie. I bought the best of album just based on those songs not expecting much from it but the whole album is good. So get Stars, it's the best of the Cranberries from '92 to '02.

Has anyone gone to any haunted houses yet? I went to one last night. Not that scary

I haven't been to a good haunted house in years. Here in CA this time of year they turn Knotts Berry Farm into Knotts Scary Farm, and although I've never been, I hear it's a lot of fun with creatures walking all over the place. I hear they lurk in the bushes, and tap you on the shoulder making everyone jump.

There aren't too many really good haunted houses but they can be fun.

TIS, I've never been to Knott's Scary Farm, but everyone goes to it, don't they... I've heard it's really fun and really scary, but those two don't go hand in hand for me. I'm already a nervous wreck, and one of the jumpiest people in the world, plus I don't even like scary movies, so I can't see it being fun for me. I heard that people come out of nowhere, grab your arm, and throw you into like dark, hidden rooms where ghosts and stuff jump out at you, or fake spiders... things like that. Not my thing. I'd be hoarse the next day. I've always wondered-- how do you know the person grabbing you or whatever is really a Knott's employee and not some random psycho? I think they're just in costume, not in uniform.

Zia, I am so with you. I hate that kind of stuff. Actually, I am a total weenie about anything scary, from movies to haunted houses to roller coasters. My husband has talked me into going onto some rides at amusement parks that I'm sure most people would think were absolutely nothing, and I get very close to humiliating myself by screaming for the man to stop the ride, I need to get off!! I remember being scared of the Ladybug Coaster I took my daughter on when she was four.

I cannot get Sopranos Season 6 off the brain for christ sake! Its all I think about.

Well folks, I'm just sitting and hunkering down for a ong day tommorow. I'm not really worried, but I'm set if anything should happen.

It should get too bad in miami till about 6 Am this morning.
Until then... I guess I'll listen to "Sinatra at the Sands" or watch "Gone with the Wind".
