What do you talk to your grand children about.

My 6 yr old Grandson likes to talk to me from Germany using face time because I can make him laugh. My daughter is always there, but we don't talk to each other all that much.

But Henrich I call him Handsome Henry he is a gas to interact with. My wife is too serious when talking to him. I like to have fun and make him laugh. When we are on together we laugh out loud for the whole call.

He can speak both English and German fluently. My German is almost non existent and for that matter my English is terrible smile

He shows me his fork he is eating with close up, and I say wait and bring in a pitch fork from outside. I say that's not a fork this is a fork stuff like that.

I tell him are you still teaching your friends English. He laughs because he likes to slip in dirty language when he does it. Then his friends say something revolting he laughs out loud his mother gets mad at him.

Out of all my grand kids he is the most like me.

Foot,

Does he look like he's going to be tall?
If so, the young man you described ...Italian/German, likes to use a fork....

is just like Bill DeBlasio

Speaking of grandchildren, can I squeeze in an adorable grandson story? This happened about 2 yrs ago or so, when my grandson was 6 or 7.

He got in trouble at school for calling a girl a bad name. He told his mom when he got home that teacher scolded him. She said "what did you call her?" He said, "mom it was really bad" and was afraid to tell her. She scolded him for calling names and asked again what he called her. He looked scared and said it started with an F. uhwhat She says, "Evan tell me."
You know what the horrible F name he called her was?

A "freckled faced freak." Ha ha ha ha lol lol It was so adorable because he was so scared. I'll never forget that story

Cute stories on this thread. My parents always talked to all their grandchildren like they were mini adults even when they were babies. None of that goo goo ga ha shit. So, the kids can strike up a conversation with just about anybody and do. Many of the teachers and other helper Moms tell me that they enjoy talking to my kids. My daughter put on a magic trick show for her preschool class when she was four. She also has many jokes and puns she learned from her grandparents. My parents would put on Macaroni (Pasta) Dinners at the church hall every year. I'd help my Dad cook and be in charge of the music. My Mom was the organizer. The Grandkids were in charge of passing out the bread. They were tiny kids given a job and handled it like naturals smile

One time when my daughter was about seven she was having a full on conversation with my brother-in-law about what caused the dinosaurs extinction. He said that if it wasn't for all the chocolate she had all over her mouth and face from eating an ice cream, he would have forgotten he was talking to a kid lol

My son came home a couple months ago with a gift bag. He received a souvenir from a classmates's Grandma who helps out at the school. She visited Italy and brought something back for him because I guess he told her about his Italian heritage. Lol he's about as Italian as Paulie from the Sopranos. He does look Italian though. His Grandpa, uncles, and cousins made quite an impression on him. He is very interested in the culture compared to the other cousins his age.

That was so sweet of that nice lady. Grandparents are wonderful cool Great thread.
