I was reading some older articles earlier and came across an interesting murder, which also led me to view several more killings he was suspected in. I never thought Mazzone was a heavy guy..but apparently in the 90's he was racking up a nice body count. I can only remember a few, if anyone knows of anymore feel free to list them. It was at least like 6 or nmore.

But the most interesting murder to me was that of Michael "Dutchie" Avicolli, maybe because I never heard of it. Dutchie was Once a close friend of Mazzone. Was a driver of Skinny Joey as well.

Apparently the guy started fucking around with Handsome Stevie's wife. After this Mazzone started an affair with one of Avicoll's girlfriend. He then whacked him out and the body was never found. Supposedly buried on a farm somewhere in Northern New Jersey.

Mazzone was said to be the first and main shooter that fucked up Joey Chang in the diner. I believe it was Horsehead Scafidi that fingered him as the first gunman going into that Wharfield Diner and went directly to the kitchen where Chang was and started pumping lead in him.

Was just shocked he was such a violent guy. Thought he was more white collar but he got his hands very dirty and bloody through the years.

Probably a factor in why guys like Phillip Narducci who cannot stand Skinny, still respect Mazzone.

Now this is how a hit was supposed to be done. I found a page with his picture, will try to post in a minute.

The guy leaves his hpuse one night driving away. And he simply is never seen again and neither is his car. Body gone, car disposed of.

Mazzone probably got away because he was smart enough to not drive your own car on a hit 3 blocks from your house with the gun used in the murder in the car. Nicodemo should have taken lessons from Mazzone. lol

Good stuff... Mazzone seems to carry a lot of respect down there. Carries himself well. I was always interested in more info on him. The lack of info says a lot about how he moves in the street.

There has to be something more to the respect level than doing work. Carrying out hits gains a lot of respect and Stevie Mazzone are on the same level in that respect. I tend to think Joey was much more inclined to fuck people, bookies, etc. over whereas Stevie treated guys with respect and demanded the same. He didn't bet into bookies and not pay them. So even though Joey and Stevie did the heavy stuff, Stevie treated others with a humbling respect while Joey thought he was mob royalty being the son of a former Underboss. Joey was a natural leader though, and more like Scarfo than he would ever admit.

Mazzone is very well respected, as evident by the continuing word that he seems to be the glue that has held the Merlino faction guys and the returning Scarfo guys in one piece.

Mazzone and Johnny Chang are the rumored shooters in the Billy Veasey murder also.

According to Scott, it wasn't Mazzone...

Early in his career in the mob, Mazzone was a driver for South Philly goodfella Louis (Louie Irish) Deluca and tended bar at Deluca’s East End Social Club. In the 1980s, Deluca was a subordinate of Nicky Scarfo lieutenants Charles (Charlie White) Iannece and Francis (Faffy) Iannerelli. He was killed in May 1990, allegedly shot to death by Mikey Ciancaglini and Gaetano (Tommy Horsehead) Scafidi, for his desire to throw his hat into the ring as a candidate to replace Scarfo as boss.

Mikey Chang and Horsehead were the alleged shooters according to that piece.

Found another one...supposedly his first hit...Felix Bocchino

Natale said Bocchino had played a key role in the Stanfa regime, after he was said to have transported the shotgun used to kill mob boss Angelo Bruno in 1980.

Though Stanfa and Bocchino were allies, Bocchino pocketed extortion monies, only sending small amounts to Stanfa, Natale claimed.

Natale contended he called Bocchino to ask him to stop shaking down Merlino's uncle, Michael "Sheiky" Baldino. When Bocchino refused, Natale said Merlino asked permission to kill him.

Natale said that he and Merlino sent word to the then-soldier Michael Ciancaglini to kill Bocchino. After the murder, Ciancaglini and Mazzone visited Natale in prison to report that Bocchino's murder was the first time Mazzone killed anyone, Natale said.

Damn. Mazzone's wife goes to a chubby guy 20 years older than her husband to get some pleasure. Guy must have shitty stamina...

Didn't Mazzone chicken his way out of the hit on Billy Veasey because he was scared of retaliation from John Veasey?

I invoke my right under the 5th amendment of the United States constitution and decline to answer the question.

I don't know someone in this thread said him and Johnny Chang were the veasey shooters.

Mazzone was also charged with the Murder of Anthony Turra so the guy was a shooter no stranger to heavy work.
