What I want to say is like the fish Cafaro that flips in 1986, his son don't followed him in the witsec and now is still in the life but he lost the possibility to be made in the genoveses due his father.

In the american mafia respect the sicilian mafia the relative of the mobster that flips don't be automatly killed and in some case remain in the life.

I read that the tumac accetturo son anthony jr is still a soldier maybe was shelved but I dont had the proof. Sonny Franzese is very old but nothing happened to him when first Michael and after the other son Joseph ratted. Lawrence Merlino flipped but now is nephew is the family boss and so on ...

Anyone had other examples ?

Skinny is godfather to one of Phil Leonetti 's cousins.

The mob is much much closer in blood and by marriage and friendship then most know NY is so intertwined its almost unbelievable all the five families anymore .

Frank Coppa Jr. and Joseph Lino are both active Bonanno soldiers. No one bothers them.

None pmac Thomas Cafaro is still an associate. The Genoveses don't forget his father betrayal.

According to that Kenny Gallo's book the old man Franzese was still sharing pictures of his grandkids that his son John, the FBI informant, would send him, doting over them like a regular old grandpa. Kenny was taken aback by this as well.

The American mafia started to stray from its Sicilian roots even before the commission was formed. Already there was a "conservative" (Sicilian) and "liberal" (American) faction. In this country, threatening civilian relatives of a gangsters just isn't going to fly. It's right up there with killing cops, women, children.

"...the successful annihilation of organized crime's subculture in America would rock the 'legitimate' world's foundation, which would ultimately force fundamental social changes and redistributions of wealth and power in this country. Meyer Lansky's dream was to bond the two worlds together so that one could not survive without the other." - Dan E. Moldea

Oak the only different between the 2 mafias is that in the US, dont kill rat parents (Casso tried to scared Chiodo trying to kill his sister but gained the opposte effect); for the women, some times mobster fiances was killed together with their men and the ralph dols case in 1997 ?

The only reason is that killing the parent is useless get too many heat without gain nothing.

Once you open the door to hitting parents, friends and family, then your parents, friends and family are game. Nobody but a true sicko wants to risk that.
