Quote:
In a recent interview McShane was asked by Cosa Nostra News blogger Ed Scarpo "what inspired the Chin to play the Oddfather role," and he answered as follows:

One thing: He did not want to return to prison after doing his time in the drug case. There was also an FBI memo suggesting, oddly enough, that Chin was afraid a return to prison would make him "crack" -- and become an informant or a homosexual. But he was absolutely determined to stay on the streets, even if it meant walking them in a bathrobe and slippers.

ag, you know chin was a fighter for many years, and a good light heavyweight, its entirely possible that he suffered in later years from "pugilism dementia" he certainly looked the part.

gigante was never going to be a fag, and he lasted on the streets as long as he could, much longer than gotti because he was smarter than gotti.

and I have read where the chin had made millions for his family. and he got away with his act for a long time.

he was a smart boss, and did what he was supposed to do, enrich his family.

You can't even really have a discussion on here, not without a goofy argument, or some racial, political, sometimes even religious nonsense.......

Like I actually get genuinely disheartened, you make a serous thread it get like ignored, ANY GOTTI, MERLINO, or generally simple topic will get like 4 -5 pages or more. I've seen more interest in mobster nicknames than like say, the big queens west side/Calabrian coke bust.

It's very strange to me..

Case in point;

I would love to ACTUALLY HAVE A DISCUSSION in that Taylor or 116th street thread, but it's just an argument waiting to happen.

I REALLY WANTED TO POST in that mob, Dem or Rep thread. I wanted to go into border politics and how that affects the drug trade, and if and how that affects the families and which families. I mentioned Fantasy betting in another thread, I wanted to go in on that. Are Dems or Rep supporting those laws? And does that action hurt or help the mob? I was going to do the same with poker machines in Illinois, does it help or hurt the mob, and which side of the political coin backs the machines legalization? And some other shit, but I got turned off by the Kennedy vs Reagan bullshit. I thought it was the Fox News website or some shit lol

I wanted to point out how Luchesse backed republicans, same time others in the mob were backing democrats it's all about the money, the mob didn't care lol

Okay rant over, but we do have a serious lack of topics on here, and when we do get one, a serious lack of interest.....

The only reason why Gigante wanted Gotti dead was because Gotti was just too good looking to keep alive....

CG good post and please post all you can on the coke bust as that's way out of my league

Also relevant IMO is the little italy weed bust as high end weed might be the new herion to wise guys. Maybe not H money but looks like every family ( except maybe Columbos??) are wholesaling large quantities. The margins seem very good today. No doubt CA growers are getting more efficient with a lot of competition and thus costs dropping so netting $1,000+ a LB is probably the norm and major crews probably moving 100 lb a month minimum and more likely a week and without the violence and jail times ( further reducing costs ). Just a reasonable 500 lb a month is spreading 5m a year around.

Basically their are multiple million dollar crews out there and there is no doubt some large networks out there, likely with some level of order and geographic boundaries / understandings.

The WS and Bonnano have Staten Ialand and certain areas in the Bronx im sure , Manhatten is a free for all but im sure crews are supplying the delivery boys and the Luchesse in NJ but it looks like everyone is involved on a massive scale and there is no reason not to be and i wouldn't be shocked to hear about bloods getting a lot of CA dank. Someone is obviously selling large amounts into LI. Also now your seeing alot more edibles around and available and im sure these guys are getting in on that- the wax too.

No point in joining the H and Larry circus , doesn't make any sense to be honest , not wth the margins and absolutely enormous demand. Would not be surprised at all to learn wise guys have been making moves to try and corner the area with the best weed in the world ( Humboldt county ) , doesn't even make sense to grow your own cost wise with the CA pipeline.

Columbos seem to have steered of drugs by and large . Wonder if they mix it up with the Gambinos for BK and / or LI. Anyway food for thought and CG please hate any of those coke stories

Alright,alright,..everyone simmer down now..somebody should pick up Rita Gigante's book..she in fact is gay from the git-go & @ age 19 tried 2 tell her parent's..who told her it was only a phase & her dad told her while she was leaving the bedroom where she boldly told her confession, 2 not see any of her girlfriends anymore..she knew they CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH..a few yrs. later while she pretended 2 b dating a few guy's here & there, she again told her mother ,(this now while her dad was under house arrest)..circa early 90 2 mid 90's..her mom (Olympia) was kinda keen 2 it already by the way she dressed & acted & never showed true feels 4 a man....mom accepted it..& also advised dad was indeed a racist & an old fashioned italian & would never accept her, fully knowing she was gay..long story short ,by the time he was convicted & sent 2 jail..& by his death, she felt free never having 2 divulge her "secret" 2 her dad..he was petrified of the thought of homosexuality at all costs..would even disown his own daughter @ the thought....now, i ask, what do u think of the former posts???

I didn't want to leave blood on your carpet...

Doesn't mean anything really! He's old school. Hating on gays does not mean u are petrified of gays. You've got the wrong end of the stick. He would disown her because he's disappointed. I understand this logic very well because my culture is exactly the same

It's just that since the last decade somehow the media and governments alike (west) have really started to embrace homo/lesbian etc even Bruce Jenner is a role model for turning into a "woman". It's somehow hip to be gay and seen as self righteous

As for Chin, he's no different to the men AND woman in my culture

I knew one family, the daughter was dating a black guy and at family events he was never welcome. He would come by and pick her up after waiting in the car

One of the younger brothers was bisexual and when the elder brother found out (he was much older/ more like a father or uncle figure than brother) he threatened to kick the shit out of him

So it was more so "shame" than being "petrified"

I don't think being gay is natural, if god wanted it that way he would of made adam, and adam, or eve, and eve.
I will never ever accept "gay marriage" as being legal.
and it has always been repugnant to me. I'm with you on this one.

"You see, out there it's the 1990's. But its 1954 in this house!" Tony Soprano. Thats my favorite line to use when it comes to all this "you dont like gay people because you're affraid of them" bullshit. I just don't like them, it's disgusting. Can't stand women that think and act like men and cant stand a person who calls themself a man but acts like a woman.

I only posted it because it came from an interview with a guy who wrote a high profile book about Gigante recently.

And the "gay" stuff came from FBI memos for whatever that's worth.

I'm aware Scarpo is persona non grata here - but his interview with DiLeonardo was posted here and nobody got mad about that?!

*And the damn article didn't say he was gay. It said he was scared of turning gay.

How is it poor taste?

The only thing it has exposed is people's homophobia but that's nothing new

Reminds me of Louis CK's joke about homophobes.

Bitterqueen is a good site. Maybe people don't like it because the authors don't jerk off over guys like Gigante and call them mastodons or something IDK.

Personally I don't think Gigante was gay (not that McShane or Scarpo proffer this) and I probably could have named the topic something else (instead of just repeating the name of the article).

But we are talking about somebody who used to defecate in his pants, urinate on himself and play in traffic to evade prison.

Is it that much of a stretch he had a fear of turning gay? Probably, but I still don't see the faux outrage.

At the end of the day, I simply thought I would share the article because it came from an interview with the guy who wrote the book everyone has been on about lately.

My bad! I forgot. People here know better than the guys who wrote those FBI memos.

Bitterqueen is a pretty good site with a lot of new info. Whoever writes it really does come across as bitter though.

I'm inclined to believe Chin didn't want to go back to prison because it's prison! No one wants to go.

We all know Chin wasn't gay and, considering everything we know about him, no doubt despised their very existence. My guess is his "fear of turning gay" probably didn't go beyond some old fashioned idea that homosexuality was contagious or something.

The guy who runs the site puts from the rough but Bitterqueen does do a good job of keeping up with current organized crime news.

As far as the "homophobia" label is concerned, I think it's a bunch of nonsense. Two sodomites can bugger each other in any way of unnatural and disgusting ways but if I find that distasteful I'm the one with the problem? Don't think so.
