Being from Essex County, my main interest has always been the activity and history in the NNJ/Newark area. I've always heard that Tommy Adams was a well respected soldier and capo with the Bruno Family. Just finished the book "Marked To Die" and it pretty much portrays him as a thug for the most part. Tough and feared, but not what I had thought. Anybody know of him who could share some info? I think his kids were connected as well.

Also, anyone know of any other good books abut the NNJ area?

He born in 1911 and died in 1999,I searched a chart of philly fam in the 80s and 90s.
In this 1982 chart is listed as blackie napoli ' s crew soldier

Maybe he take the crew when blackie retired in 1984. In an another chart of the early 90s he also listed as soldier.
His nephew dominick jr is a philly nj crew associate.

Furio - Was Blackie Napoli the guy that was killed by the Campisi group from So. Orange Ave. in Newark. I thought I read that in a book about them.

Furio - As far as I know the Campisis were associated with the Genovese Family and I believe a couple of them were made. They were pretty much known as a renegade faction and pretty feared. NaNa, Petey Black, Petey White, Biagio were some of the names. According to the book "To Drop a Dime", their main stronghold was South Orange Ave. in Newark.

DonCheech and Furio, I also think they may have been involved with the renegade "Gallichio's" who were also from that area but I'm not positive. Both families were extremely violent and considered impulsive when it came to violence. Other than the book "To drop a Dime" I'm not aware of any other books about the Campisi's. And don't know any about the Gallichio's. Hope this helps. Good subject, maybe some of the other Essex County posters can contribute information on these guys. I also find the Essex County stuff interesting.

Good post furio..dont mean to sidetrack the thread..but whhat happened to the Iezzi crew? Anyone know more about him and his crew succession?

Also curious since Santo Idones been long gone, theres no Chester crew right its just all Delco under Johnny Chang formerly borgesi right?

Last question but what happened to Pappy Ippolito after his cousin Angelo Bruno died? Dont know much about him and dont recall hearing about him post Bruno?

Sidenote- if anyone has any info about some of the lesser known soldiers like John Cappello, The Scalleat bros from Hazleton, Dominic RugnettA(was he related to Joe the old consig??), Jerry Fusella, Mike Ricciardi Jr thatd be interesting to hear...dont know much.if anything about those guys but figured sine Philly is such a small fam worth a shot...thanks fellas

All i know mike ,is that iezzi was scarfo sr.s captain waaay back in the day, then served HIS pupil until either retirement in fla. or death. Scarfo as boss more or less left him alone & occasionally asked him 4 advise.
