Wire, sopranos , bb but all are classics. The wire was just so versatile and had so many great characters.

They're all 5 stars shows for me, but Sopranos is the only show I watched more than once..

They are also my 3 all time favorite TV shows, if i had to only choose one, i would probably go for The Sopranos as for the Mafia element.. But all great shows in their own right.

When I think about it, story wise, Breaking Bad was the best imo, because it was so original and almost a Greek tragedy with Walt having the best of intentions at first but losing himself completely in the process..

The Wire's and Sopranos' story was great also, but it was more of a kaleidoscope with all the different story lines..

Breaking Bad was more creative then the other shows, but it also at many moments felt to be more unrealistic...so it was kind of a trade off there

but i still love it

The Sopranos is the best TV show of all time imo.

Never seen the wire so I can't comment on that.

Seen all the Breaking Bad episodes once. Good show but not interested in seeing them all again. I just never could get over the fact how Hank was supposed to be this big bad DEA agent but after all the clues and hints he still couldn't figure out who he was chasing. I mean finding the mask from the school Walter teaches at, Walter being a chemist, the initials WW in the book, Walter crashing into another car on the way to the plant. I mean what else do you need you dumb ass.

And I barely got through season 1 having to watch preggo skylar with her cleavage showing every freakin episode. puke. And her face aggravates me too.

I've never seen The Wire so I can't comment on it.

To me so far:

1. Breaking Bad
2. Sons of Anarchy
3. The Sopranos
4. The Walking Dead
5. The Shield

Id definitely go with the wire over the sopranos because there were more shitty episodes of the sopranos.

I think that, with Hank's case, it was more something that he doesn't want to believe. Walter, his brother in law, being the criminal he was chasing all along. Also, Hank knowing Walter and the way Walter behave, I think he didn't look at him that way.

For me, the Wire was better than Sopranos, simply because you have people involved from the lowest ranks of drug dealers, to the highest state politicians.

Of the three I would go with the Sopranos because I can watch it over and over again. The Wire is a great show and was one of HBO's best. I agree that Breaking Bad was more creative than the other two but not one of my favorites. For me the top three are Sopranos, Oz and The wire. For about a ten year period or so HBO was making the best shows on tv.

never watched breaking bad but the first three seasons of the sopranos where fucking great then they kind of muddled around but i loved it all. but so much of the wire really happened in baltimore,i finished growing up up there and knew exactly who they were talking about. when Marlo had the security guard killed for disrespect, that was Linwood Williams bullshit ,he denies it but the guard and his wife had words.

I'll go with the wire. What someone else said, the soprano's had too many crappy episodes where nothing happened. I would put the shield over breaking bad and maybe even the sopranos. Again, as much as I love mafia related shows, there were just too many episodes where nothing happened. Sons of Anarchy went off the rails after a while and became too unrealistic. Show went on for too many seasons.

I'll go with The Sopranos.

The Wire went off the rails a bit in Season 5 with the main storyline.

I could never really get into Breaking Bad,

I think you can accuse The Wire and Breaking Bad of being unrealistic at times, moreso than The Sopranos.

The Shield was hurt, in my opinion, by the censorship. No bad words? come on...

Damn near everything in the wire is real life shit in Baltimore. The election of the mayor that was O'Malley coming in after Schmoke, and when the mayor won the governor sea, and the black woman was elected mayor that happened(Shelia Dixon)who was convicted of corruption. the whole first season was how they took down Melvin Williams. The only thing that may not be real was the area they let drug addicts and sellers openly buy and sell. The rest was real deal Baltimore shit. A lot of the real major Baltimore drug players were on the sets of the wire as advisors and actors Williams and Shorty Buise

Yeah, you're probably right. I thought McNulty's storyline in season 5 was a bit hokey though.

And I think they overdid some of the mythos around Omar, like the Spiderman leap.

And Brother Mouzone.

Come on! Was he really based on somebody?

Better call saul i thought was decent, some funny scenes.

The wire i still haven't managed to get into. Going to start again soon.

The Sopranos will always be my favorite. Although the Underbelly series, rank high up there for me too.

Watching Underbelly: Badness at the moment.

Yeah the first season is one of my favorites.

Have you seen any of the others ?

I thought the second series about Terry Clark, Aussie Bob and the Mr Asia drug syndicate was pretty decent too.

I picked up Underbelly NZ: Land Of The Long Green Cloud recently on dvd also, which is the same story but following Marty Johnstone, rather than Terry Clark.

No ive only watched the first season, but im guessing the the seasons are exaggerated and watered down versions on the first season.

If you enjoyed the first season, id definitely give the second a shot.

All the seasons are different stories though.

Although the latest season Fat Tony and Co, has the characters from the first series.

There is a few movie long episodes also which are pretty good, including Colin McClaren's story of infiltrating the Ndrangheta and a few others.
