Can anybody tell me which soldiers were under John Gotti when he was captain of the Bergin crew??

I know his brother Gene, Angelo Ruggiero and John Carneglia were in it, but who were the rest of the crew..

This is what I´ve got for the Fatico crew around 1979/1980:

- Carmine Fatico (official captain, semi retired)
- John Gotti (acting captain)
- Danny Fatico
- Andy Ruggiano
- Angelo Ruggiero
- Gene Gotti
- Nick Corozzo
- John Carniglia
- Lenny DiMaria
- Mike Guerrieri
- Tony Guerrieri
- Joe "Peanuts" Messina (possibly)

So by the looks of it, there were not many made guys in the crew at at that point, but it had a lot of associates. For some reason Ruggiano, Corozzo and DiMaria were transfered to be under Caiazzo in the early 1980s. Alogna was made later, so was Covello and scala. Paradiso was made in 1977, but into Garofalo´s crew (not Fatico´s) but transfered to be under Angelo Ruggiero in 1986. I don´t think any of the Moscatiellos (Sr and Jr) were actually made.

I don't thinks that's right furio. Charles Carnelgia killed Michael cottelio in 1977 he was with Nicky Corezzo and at that time Nicky was in a different crew and he asked Neil to allow him to kill Charles there was a sit down with Johnny Carnelgia and Nicky Corezzo. Johnny was able to save Charles life. Charles Carnelgia was crazy

Charles Carniga was with faticos crew in the 70s and gotti in the 80s he got made in 1990 after the louie murder. The guy did not know how to earn but he was one of the most feared guys because he was crazy that's why John kept him around in the 90s junior gotti paid Charles 500 week to stay loyal because he knew Charles was a killer. But Charles was in an awkward position because he was under junior gotti but Johnny Carnelgia was beefing with junior from prison


Bobby boriello in the mid 80s also joined that crew. He was johns driver.

There werent many made guys when gotti was running the bergin crew. In fact in august 1983 the drug arrest really took out a lot of that crew eventually like gene and john carneglia.

They may live in infamy, but most of the toughs from John Gotti's Bergin Hunt and Fish Club crew are in jail or dead.

With the arrest this month of reputed Gambino crime family hit man Joseph Watts, only three members of Gotti's crew remain alive and on the street.

Reputed soldiers Ignazio (Iggy) Alogna, Michael (Mikey Gal) Guerrieri and John (Jack) Cavallo are survivors - and schemers.

They've struggled with serious illnesses and staying on the right side of the law.

"They don't have pensions to live on," pointed out Bruce Mouw, the former supervisor of the FBI's Gambino squad.

"These old guys will scheme until they die."

Alogna, 75, a widower raising a grandson in Pennsylvania, once held the rank of capo but was busted down to soldier for trying to extort a businessman without permission.

"There's not going to be anything from this end, you know better than that," a man who identified himself as Alogna's son told the Daily News.

Long Island resident Cavallo, 60, beat a rap in 2007 after his lawyer persuaded a jury the feds nailed the wrong "Jack" for running a gambling parlor.

Last year, 82-year-old Guerrieri got permission - because of his deteriorating health - to stop reporting to a probation officer after a gambling conviction.

The crew's glory days were the 1970s and 1980s, when Gotti was a charismatic thug worshiped by his underlings.

Gotti inherited the club on 101st Ave. in Ozone Park from Gambino capo Carmine Fatico. It was named for Bergen St. in Brooklyn, but misspelled.

"The crew was remarkably loyal and disciplined," said a knowledgeable law enforcement source.

Of the core group, only Gotti's so-called "adopted son," Lewis Kasman, turned rat.

The inner circle included Gene Gotti (jail); John Carneglia (jail); Edward Lino (slain); Sal Scala (died recently in prison), and Anthony (Tony Lee) Guerrieri (dead).

Other confidants included Angelo Ruggiero (dead); Anthony (Tony Roach) Rampino (jail); Vincent Artuso (jail); Ronald Trucchio (jail); Thomas (Tommy Sneakers) Cacciopoli (jail), and Charles Carneglia (currently on trial).

The club's brick facade is intact, and the building houses a medical supply business and dog groomer.

"After Gotti died [in 2002], people started coming by and taking pictures," said Pedro Severino, owner of PSC Medical Supply. "Last year, three old guys came in a black Lincoln Town Car with a driver. They came in and looked around talking to each other, and then they left."

Guerrieri summed up how much that old gang meant to him at a bail hearing where he refused a judge's order to stay away from wiseguys.

"I don't know no doctors or lawyers," he said, according to the Web site ganglandnews.com. "Who am I supposed to hang out with? Send me to jail. I can talk to all my friends in jail."

His wish was granted, but three days later Guerrieri changed his mind and agreed to abide by the bail conditions.

I knew John did the car thing heavily with Auto Yards and theft rings and killed a lot of people, but Charlie I've always thought could have been a triple digit murder, he was cutting up and draining bodies in bathtubs in Queens apartments around the same time DeMeo put together the Gemini Method, am I wrong in assuming many who wouldn't/didn't want to deal with a renegade/lesser respected Roy DeMeo by sourcing hits/clean ups to the Gotti Crew, mainly the Carneglia Bros?

Charles was never with Nicky I said Nicky wanted to kill him over the Michael cottelio murder. Charles killed Michael over some petty beef Michael was with Nicky Corezzo. Nicky went to Neil at a sit down demanded Charles get killed but Johnny Carnelgia saved his life Neil ruled Charles was too important


Charles was a fucking head case he killed a court officer in 1976 he killed Michael cottelio 1977 he killed sal puma in 1983 stabbed him to death because sal had stopped paying money to a gambino monster in prison killed Louie DiBono killed a innocent guy in a robbery killed favara the guy who ran over gottis kid. Fucked up story about Charles ruggerio was complaining that Charles was taking ages to dispose of favaras body Charles got mad burnt favaras body in acid then got the bones of favara and dropped them in ruggerios soup. He was crazy the guy once tortued these kids burning there feet in acid because he thought one of them shot at his house

Kevin Mchanon who was practically the carneligas adopted son he said Charles killed random guys for fun and burnt there bodies in acid he would always have a Jewerly of the guys he killed and then he would sell it to other mob guys. Kevin had to baby sit Charles at mob parties and weddings in case he got high because when he got high he got crazy. He was one of the craziest guys ever. Even his brother thought he was crazy John gotti himself appatently felt uncomfortable being around him.

How many associates did the entire crew have together?

he had many, its impossible to say how many exactly. Tony roach, willie boy, mark reiter, carneglia, anthony moscitello were some of the well known ones

I think a lot of those guys posted were based in that guy fat Andy's crew nick n Jojo cor. That guy tony Lee his brother and skinny Dom p killed some guy in the 80tys who pushed fat Andy's wife. The son ended up flipping and told on all of them. Think both crews were based out of queens and were friendly with each other.

Tough to put a number on it at any one time. I guess it depends what years you're curious about, his crew in the 70s, who was with him in the 80s or who he oversaw for Fatico and Neil through the 80s into taking over.

Dellacroce and Fatico each had expansive crews that Gotti inherited

Was Neil delacroce son armond in gottis crew. Im pretty sure Tue corozzo brothers and that guy Lenny d and tony Lee were all in fat Andy ruggiano crew but based in the same area as gotti and his guys. Think they were all indicted both crews in early 80tys but the won at trial think it was fixed.

fat andy ruggianos kid flipped in the 2000s he was with jo jo corezzo after his father died in 1999. Testified against charles fat andys kid and he testified againt bobby venace and danny marino. he killed Frank (Geeky) Boccia for gotti never got made because he was addicted to drugs. Fat andy must be turning in his grave his son became a rat

peter zuccaro was with johnny carnelgia in the 80s and charles when johnny went away. Charles and peter fell out after there drug operation collasped pete switched over to the bonannos

Kevin Mchanon he was with the carnelgias and the gotti crew in the 80s and 90s. Fact of the day the bike frank gotti died in 1980 it was kevin who gave him the bike. John gotti never cared about that he used to get kevin to walk around with him he felt kevin was good luck But junior gotti hated kevin he blamed him for frankies death junior shot kevin in the 90s apparently accidentally. Kevin also flipped after being indicted with ronnie T in the late 2000s

Also had Matthew Trainor and for a while, "Jammsey" and a few more whose names I can't recall but will look it up later
