The FBI reportedly questioned former NFL star Jeremy Shockey last week in a growing investigation into an international drug and gambling ring.

The New York Post reported Sunday that FBI agents visited Shockey at his Miami home. The investigation involves an international operation allegedly headed by former USC tight end Owen Hanson, among others. Hanson is friends with Shockey and former Trojans teammate and NFL running back Reggie Bush.

Hanson and 21 others have already been arrested in the probe into ODOG Enterprise. Among those arrested were former NFL running back Derek Loville, a three-time Super Bowl champion. Loville has been accused of distributing drugs in the operation

The Post reported that Shockey and Hanson had traveled together to Costa Rica a few years ago, and had spent time together in the U.S.

Shockey told The Post he had no idea about Hanson’s alleged involvement in drugs and gambling.

“I thought he was in the real estate business like me,” Shockey told The Post. “I’m a straight businessman. I don’t hang out with drug dealers or prostitutes. I’m here with my girlfriend making out, and I get a knock on my door from these agents. I said to them, ‘Come on in. I got nothing to hide.’”

At least one other NFL player is reportedly a target of the investigation. According to The Post, an FBI indictment of one of the men already arrested claims he sent five grams of cocaine and 15 capsules of Ecstasy to a “pro-football player located in Nashville, Tenn.” on Nov. 17, 2014. The Steelers and the Titans played in Nashville that day on Monday Night Football.

A Las Vegas gambler who told The Post he tipped off the FBI about the illegal operation says the NFL should get involved.

“I am the source that broke the case, and I know the FBI will get to the bottom of this,” he told The Post. "NFL Commissioner “Roger Goodell should start his own independent investigation of these allegations as well.”

Shockey told The Post he never touches drugs: “I’m a drunk — I’m Irish. I’ve never had anything to do with drugs. And I would never do anything illegal to jeopardize everything I’ve worked for.”

Shockey made four Pro Bowl appearances in his 10 years as a tight end in the NFL with the Giants, Saints and Panthers. He caught 547 passes for 6,143 yards and 37 touchdowns.
