Wiped out... yesterday was cartpath only because of the rain.

Overnight the course had an inch of rain but while we played not one drop and felt they should have at least let us do 90 degrees across fairways.

Fished Saturday and Golfed two days in a row......

I went to work to get some rest.

LoL

The 115th U.S. Open tee's off tomorrow morning in Tacoma WA.

You can bring and smoke Marijuana on the course openly and legally.

I Wagered on Sergio Garcia and a back up bet with the Field.

Enjoy

Dustin Johnson at -6 under top of the leaderboard.

Sergio was -1 under earlier and now +2 over.

Come on Sergio

The U.S. Open.

Jason Day remain on the Leader board while suffering from Vertigo.

Dustin Johnson must have scored some good weed while in Wa.

Sergio rips the Course again, this time in a interview.

Tomorrow should bring in a dark horse for the win.

Dues, it is a strange course to be watching on TV and worse for the spectators. I think the USGA gets a little carried away with their "tough test" criteria. They wind up creating conditions that are far off from the standard, weekly tournament. The greens are way to difficult to find a line when you have play a 45 degree arc and get the speed just right. I like to see birdies, not double bogeys.

I'm pulling for Day. I hope he makes it through the round. JOhnson? Yeah ok. He got robbed in the PGA a few years ago. Spieth is the guy - GRAND SLAM baby.

And what about all those assholes in the gallery screaming out stupid shit so they can ask their friend, "hey did you hear me yell out BABA BOOEY!?, that was cool."

Well, Spieth did everything possible to give it away. But poor Dustin Johnson has had the yips since they got him off the cocaine whistle.

Two down, two to go? Never happen. But it's great for the game when the same guy wins the first two Majors of the year. It creates lots of buzz.

The game is Tuff, you always have to step up to the game and the rules and sometimes you have to step up to the Course. Its nice to see them play on types of conditions we face often.

So many if's, Grace was looking good until he hit it into the train tracks.
I thought at the minimum it was going into a playoff but he choked.
Too bad.

This kid is good for the game, he has been fun to watch.

Enjoy and hope you all had a wonderful Fathers day.

I think I played golf 4 times.

I was not successful all I kept doing was cursing at the fucking ball for not going where I wanted it to go.

At the end I thought I was doing good if I did not lose the ball. I liked riding in the cart smile

Thats actually pretty good..... I loose about 4 - 6 balls a round.

I have successfully made it through a round with one ball several times, I saved them and wote the date and where I played on them.

Maybe i'll break 100 today.

Remember speed is more important than line. Unless you are playing Chambers Bay....then neither of them matter; you're F'D anyway the go.

True, I have been practicing the method of rolling the putt rather then trying to pace the line.

Need to also adjust grip

Shot a 106 today.

Did well with a new Putter.

Also took a few old rescue wedges I could not hit and been working well with them now.

Out again Thursday, hopefully.

Bethpage is an awesome collection of five courses. I've always considered the Red Course as its second toughest. Spent MANY Saturdays there over the years.

Yep. The Black is one of the few courses in the country on which you get punished for hitting a good shot.

It really is beautiful, I only played there once and played the Red then also.

We do not play black since you must walk and one of our foursome could never walk 18.

The entire facility is outstanding, we had breakfast in the dinning room and will again Mon, the check in is like a motor vehicle center or otb. Ropes, lines and windowed cashiers. Very organized, clean and well done.

Looking forward to getting back there, gunna hit the pro shop and get a hat or a shirt.

Hope you get there again.

I haven't been there in years and I suspect it has changed quite a bit from when I played there regularly back in the '60s and '70s. I used to drive out there from Brooklyn then with my brother, father and a family friend. We'd get there about 3:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, sign in and then go to a diner on Hempstead Tpke (right off the Seaford) for a good breakfast. Back to the course and hit some balls, practice putting and then start playing about 7:30 or so. OK, it was usually a five hour round but it was so much fun. Even the near riots in the courtyard leading up to the clubhouse (fights over accused sneaking into line).

If they still have daily lockers up in the clubhouse it's a great way to enjoy the day. You can take a shower after playing and then go down to the dining area and eat a leisurely lunch. Great days!!

I ended up moving ten minutes away from the courses but was unable to physically play anymore. That was a tease.

Before he moved to Mayberry, SC had become more of an Eisenhower Park guy wink grin.

And hey, just for the record, I love that place smile.

Nice, still a great place.

Sorry to hear you can no longer play, but if you want to run around the course, in a cart and step out and hit a few, let me know and maybe PB would join us and we will bring a fourth ( on Me) - and you will see the Park again. If not this one anyone. We can play any course, PB, that Pelahm Park course is very nice also, I had played in a outing there not too long ago.

Any time Gentlemen.

I'll set it up.

Rory Mc. Looks like he will be out of the Open. Stupid. I was hoping for a Spieth/McIlroy pairing on Sunday. Who knows now?

Good advice. A nine iron or a PW. Then work your way up the ladder, one club at a time, on each trip to the range.

Hell, I'm not a great golfer by any means. But when I'm "playing" (meaning three rounds a week, plus a trip to the range), I'm about a 12 handicap, give or take. When I'm not "playing," I could easily go out and shoot 100.

If you're not a pro (and it's truly a God given talent, don't let anyone kid you), you have to play or you're gonna be stuck in the high 90's or low 100s, at best.

But back to SC's advice. Take it. Work your way up to a five iron (forget the 3 and 4 irons, they're dated and useless to a weekend golfer). Then get yourself a hybrid, a 7 wood and a 5 wood. And THEN worry about your driver (and buy a "friendly" driver, there are scores of them on the market today).

A friend of mine who was a low handicapper suggested that I go out with 3 clubs and a putter. It will improve your swing. Never did it. I've threatened, but never did.

Best book on golf I ever read and still do from time to time...I went from 28 to 12 in a season a good few years back with that advice always in mind, but then kind of drifted away from the game...probably now playing around a 14 handicap at the moment, joining again this year though and hope get it down a bit.

Best advice...Educate yourself well, get a few lessons to tidy things up and PRACTICE! In all honesty, clubs are fairly secondary at our level, as long as you get your swing basics nailed properly....also get a pre-shot routine into your game and NEVER hit any shot without it, either on the range or course, including putting.

Golf my Way by Nicklaus is well illustrated and probably slightly easier to follow, although Ive always liked Hogan's attitude towards the game.

I have to admit, Im more of a traditionalist when it comes to clubs and would never buy a hybrid, thats just me though and not the majority - 3/4 irons off the tee work well and I feel offer a bit more control than a 5 or 7 wood on slightly longer fairway shots. I'd still use a 1 iron of the tee if I could find a decent one these days!
