I'm not sure who he was made under. There was a thread on one of the other boards where a pretty reputable Philly poster compiled a list of all the making ceremonies in Philly going back a pretty long time, with the years and the guys who were inducted at each ceremony. I'll have to see if I can find it. I could be way off base and dead wrong here, but Frank may have been one of the guys inducted by Joey (right after Stanfa went away) when he was making all of his close friends. I'd be willing to bet that he definitely wasn't made by Stanfa, though. Please do, would be so down to read that! Late 50's is norm for LCN families and young for Genovese. The precedent for making kids wasn't till the 80s Scarfo era. Merlino adopted it too as did Stanfa but IMO more for tactical reasons. Merlino loyalists were all young guys and Stanfa's group in the beginning consisted of all old guys who couldnt pull a trigger. I don't think 50 is out of the ordinary for Merlino. He made that art thief in boston right?

He made that art thief in boston right? Yep, Merlino inducted a few guys from Boston - Shawn Vetere, Bobby Luisi, and Robert Gentile. Gentile is the one who the FBI believes has knowledge of the heist and/or where the art could possibly be stored today. I read in an article not too long ago from the Hartford Courant where a widow of one of the suspected thieves told the FBI that her husband had passed along some of the stolen artwork to Gentile to sell before he passed away. Gentile was arrested again just last month on gun charges; the article says that the feds have a recording of Gentile negotiating a sale of the paintings to an undercover agent. http://www.courant.com/news/connecticut/hc-gentile-gun-charge-0418-20150417-story.html

They showed some pictures I have never seen before. That was a good post. Love the Philly history.
