I don't suppose many folks outside of the UK would have much interest in our latest election this Thursday. They would fall in line with the millions of folks in the UK who have no interest in it either.

We have the same no interest problem here in the US. Unfortunely it is from the young and from the stupid. Both I like to refer to as the sheep who let themselves be led.

I invoke my right under the 5th amendment of the United States constitution and decline to answer the question.

The election is this coming Thursday, May 7. If I'm reading it correct, Yogi, it looks like the bookies (who I trust more than the pollsters) think the Conservatives will win the most seats, but not a majority, and that Labor is favored to lead a new government in alliance with the Liberal Democrats. Is that right?

That is what they are saying Pete. Another factor would be the Scottish Nationalists winning loads of seats in Scotland and getting a say with the Tories or Labour. So the party who wanted a referendum to rip our country apart last year would now be in power over all of us to a degree. Oh the delicious irony of it all

When Churchill lost his PM position following WWII, I take it that he failed to be re-elected as a Parliament representative from his district. Is that correct or was it that he could not keep his Parliament coalition?

Yes, I was rather surprised as well. From the polling, I had thought that there was going to be a hung government at best.

But then as the hours wore on, it developed into Cameron likely needing a coalition to a straight up Tory win, with the Liberal Democrats taking the brunt of it at the polls.

Though I did see turnout was around 66% -- the last time a US election was that high, it was 1900.

There is hope for us all...if the Brits can go conservative and stop the insane spending/liberal policies of the socialist EU, maybe we can come to our senses here too as well and get rid of this Marxist/Socialist lump of DNA that we have in the White House and his whole ilk of increasingly leftist Demobrat brethren.

I hope that happens here in the US what is happening is reminding me of a bloodless takeover of our country in the name of helping the helpless.
