The operators mess0age was that she had a call from a prisoner in the New York prison system. I thought that he was incarcerated at ADX Florence in Colorado, not anywhere in NY state. Has he been relocated ???

is he in the ny system. he was indicted by the feds so im guessing hes in raybrook or its Otisville. them places would suck for him every mafia wannabe would be gunning for him. theres still a lot of guys doing time casue him now there kids and grand kids arnt gonna let him walk the yard. she aint dumb shes not gonna blow her fathers spot up on tv they could have used that ny state from one of the other guys in jail. just read whitey bulger down coleman wonder if he is pc. think the feds would do it involintary.

He is in " the cheese factory". Its a prison within a prison for informants. No way he is in general population. He isnt locked up 23 hrs a day either.

Gravano is in the Arizona system until 2019, but the location (CO Spec Svcs) would indicate he's out of state. No matches in the Federal database, nor New York State.

in prison it is called a witsect unit..when you get released you go into witness protection program. as an inmate you are not with guys in population doing non ratting time..

Gravano left the federal WITSEC program in 1997, mostly so he could promote his book. He was living quite openly in metro Phoenix through 1999, and was operating a restaurant called Uncle Sal's in south Scottsdale (still open, but different owners).

Up until 2013, he was in the Arizona system in the Florence (AZ) state prison. He could be under protective custody somewhere in the federal system. If memory serves me right, his federal sentence runs concurrent with his Arizona sentence, so he's due to be released in 2019.

Why would he be in NY?? His recent crimes were in AZ and he was convicted/plead in Maricopa County.

He's not in NY, just close enough that you don't need to fly there from the city. He's not in Arizona and he's not in a state prison, regardless of his crimes being committed there. There are special circumstances in the case of Sammy bull, I would think that's obvious.

Gravano is out of state, but I don't know where. And to an earlier point about a mid-2016 release date, that does line up with 85% time. Arizona has a program called 85% time, which somebody is eligible for if it is the first felony conviction and the felony conviction was for a non-violent felony. And aside from one minor infraction, he's not been a trouble prisoner.

Usually, the Unit Location in the upper block of the prisoner record will tell you where a prisoner is incarcerated -- most maximum security prisoners go to the facility in Florence, Arizona, which is about an hour outside downtown Phoenix. News accounts in Phoenix indicate that Gravano was incarcerated in the Arizona system from his conviction in 2000 up until 2013. His New York sentence for narcotics was to run concurrent with the Arizona sentence, though if memory serves me right, the New York sentence doesn't expire until 2021.

However in that link I provided above, in February 2013, he was moved to C.O. SPEC SVCS, which is an AZDOC code for out of state. What's even more weird is that I can't find any court paperwork backing up why that move was made.

Regardless, at the bottom of that prisoner record, you can still see he has three warrants and detainer requests.

I'm not going to name the prison but he is in P.A and in witsec because of his past cooperation from the early 90's. Him being in witsec has absolutely nothing to do with his arizona case in which he did NOT cooperate. They basically wanted him.
Truth is, Gravano wanted nothing to do with drugs or illegal activity, he thought he was going to make money in the pool business. In fact, when he found out his son and daughters boy friend were involved with Ecstacy, he was against it and wanted them to focus on construction. In the end, he kind of served as an advisor and took control of the money part and took most of the wrap to protect his son. Im not sticking up for the guy, just stating facts. Take that with whichever grain of salt you choose.
