Erra was a made member of the Genovese family , he was close to trigger Mike Coppola , he was born in Harlem in 1915 and in his younger days he was a professional bantamweight boxer having 8 pro fights

I'd have to check my notes but I believe he was inducted into the Genovese Crime Family in the late 1940s. He represented them in South Florida. He died in the early 1970s. I think his father was in the scrap metal business. Erra himself was thought to be connected to the heroin trade. I always thought he might have shared confidential information with the FBI near the end of his life. I think Thom L Jones wrote about him too.

Erra was a made guy who handled Genovese rackets in the Miami area. I think Valachi exposed him as being under Mike Coppola. In fact, after Coppola died, informant said that Erra took over Coppola´s activities (mostly shylocking) down there.

One interesting thing about Erra is his "employment" as a manager of Dean Martin´s (the entertainer) restaurant (Dino´s Lounge). The operators of the restaurant were indicted in 1966 on charges that the restaurant failed to supply a correct list of their employees, failed to have them fingerprinted as ordered by the Florida Beverage Department, and employed a convicted felon. The felon being Erra (tax evasion conviction.)

Vinny Teresa claimed in his book that it was Patsy Erra who set up John "Futto" Biele to be hit. But a lot of what Teresa said doesn´t make sense. No idea if Teresa lied or told the truth.
