"Ed Scarpo", or should I say Ed Leiber, is back at it again. Making up a similar story as he did last summer, claiming that the Philadelphia family has named Phil Narducci as it's new boss. He's unsure of whether it's on an acting or permanent basis, and he claims he will have an updated version once he gets more information from his "sources" on the streets who wish to remain anonymous.

Sound familiar? He made a claim last summer that George Borgesi had been chosen as the new Philly boss. After several people pointed out that his sources were bogus and that he was 100% wrong, he kind of retracted his story but never actually admitted that he was flat out wrong. A few days later he posted a new article with the headline "Does It Really Matter Who's The Boss in Philly?"

This new story is more bogus junk. Merlino is in the can for a measly 4 months, and Stevie Mazzone has been the acting/street boss since 2011 after Uncle Joe was arrested. Why would there be a need for a new boss, whether it's official or on an acting basis? Merlino wouldn't be relinquishing his post; and in the hypothetical position that he was, it would surely be Mazzone as the new official boss if that were to happen. But it's not.

Merlino and Ciancaglini reportedly do not get along with Narducci, and vice versa. Narducci has absolutely no respect for Skinny Joey. Mazzone is what's holding things together, and Narducci reportedly kicks up to Stevie out of respect. Merlino has all of the power and backing, especially with Chickie back out on the street and his son being the underboss. No way Merlino would risk putting Narducci in a powerful administration position. The only way Narducci would become boss would be by taking it by force.

I think a bogus retraction will be coming soon, followed by another "Does It Really Matter" article instead of just admitting that he's wrong or flat our fabricating stories to get clicks to his site.

OK. I understand why people hate Leiber, obviously. But what's the deal with the Cicale hate? Apart from his, obviously, being a rat.

He must have done something right to get made at such a young age - without knowing much else about him.

Could someone flesh this out for me?

Is there something that makes him any more dishonest and hard to take at face value than any other guy that ratted?

And without knowing anything about the ins and outs of The Philly Mob, playing devils advocate, I would have to say Narducci being boss would be pretty hard to believe - and in any case Leiber has discredited himself with the whole Borgesi thing.

Edit: And what I'm missing about Cicale may be really obvious. He was a footnote in King of the Godfathers and I only ever see him mentioned in passing here so I'm a bit out of the loop in that respect.

Ed intentionally rights stories to try and bait certain posters/people onto his website. The Philadelphia Mob Story he wrote and his source is that guy who always post on his site and signs it -"philly".

That guy is his source probably for a lot of things, he claims that guy was/is a made philly guy (stanfa years I think) which is hard to believe given that guy comments on every story ED writes. How do I know that just like another poster wrote you can email ED..pretend to be connected and he just believes you.. he really is a SISSY!!!!!

I am starting to believe this is what he keeps doing ONLY because the amount of advertising and pop-ups on his site. It is definitely at the annoying level. The damn pages keep wanting to reload with all the ads...There is the initial page with the bait story and a few ads. Then you click to read the juicy details (aka the rest of story) and WAMMO, a whole NEW set of ads......... I know that everyone has got to earn a living and pay for their web servers but sites that take the advertising to crazy levels makes me question their intentions.

It's like those old porn and gambling pop-ups from ten years ago. If you clicked on one of them you got a virus and kept getting pop-ups until you had the hard drive cleaned up. That's why I won't even look at his site. My hate for him is based strictly off copy and pastes that friends send to me here .

And he's always pushing the advertising. The guy just has no shame .

I still remember with nostalgia those times when Youtube didn't have advertising on EVERY video I find and I didn't have to either to reload 10 times or to watch the crap.

That's annoying as Hell. Now there are certainly things available on Youtube that are almost impossible to find elsewhere. But for movies, television and music, I'll take Spotify and Netflix any day. Less than ten bucks a month each. No commercials or advertising.

You guys should really get some Chrome/Mozilla extensions, namely AdBlock. I don't remember the last time I saw an ad, not even on YT for some reason.
