I know, some basic info about him that he was a onetime capo then knocked down and according to Monacello was constantly broke and not too bright, not sure how much stock you can put in that scumbag piece of shits word.

Anyone have any other insight on his current status within the org? Crew, locations(i think s phi but not sure). Also is he currently locked up? Im blanking for some reason I thought he was out but may have gotten caught up in the 2012 arrests w mousie, staino etc.

Please no wiki posts I read l that, but ne info as always is much appreciated. Thanks fellas

He wasn't bright as you said, I remember him violating his parole by beating his girlfriend. And I think I read an article during that time which said that Ligambi kept him close to appease the Merlino faction.

He is one of Skinnys guys ,the old guard has no use for him ,nor do they have any need for a guy that can't make money. The only reason he was given Lucibello's crew is for Skinny.
I think he and Lucibello are just out, or are getting soon.
I guess he will fall behind G.L.

Should probably ask Mr. Kierney. I guess if you're Italian, you should be in prison.
I've read the RICO Act, and I can tell you it's more appropriate...
for some of those guys over in Washington than it is for me or any of my fellas here

Gaeton Lucibello is not to be confused with English celebrity chef, Gary Rhodes.

What activities does he have left , managing a package ?

I'd be curious to know what rackets Philly still generates big $ in

I'm assuming they are mainly gambling from books to poker machines , setting up big poker games etc.

And some minor insurance or real estate scams and legit bars and restaurants

Gambling is very lucrative if you have the volume ( but not for everyone ) and the Westside has made moves in their market share the last 15 years or so .

I believe they do sports ticket scalping too .

These guys were monsters in extortion and construction back in the day , I'm sure in SP they still have a nice revenue stream . They likely have their share of dealers but on the smaller side . It would be great to know the size of the pie today and get a sense of how well they are doing . Scarfo jr for all his faults really did mastermind a very successful stock and corp looting scam that probably fed the admin for years . If I were Ligambo I would have retired as well , similiar to Gotti jr living off the Tore internet charge scam .

With the cyber breach exposure today , I'm sure some international extortion scam has either been set up or is in the process of it , it really should be the next monster money making score . With the Italians having groups in the US , EU , Turkey , central and South America and Australia , they have the geographic presence to probably make it work and hide the $ around the world. The Russians are probably already in it

Think the guy was acting underboss when mousie was in nj state prison. That would make joey the won who put him there. Merlino must be in a halfway house.

Yes all of the sports venues in Philly are based in South Philly. I believe (nothing 100% concrete but from what I have personally seen and heard) they have some ticket scalping and merchandise dealing operations in the parking lots especially during Eagles tailgates.

Dante that makes Lot of sense

I have known about the ticket thing for awhile but the merchandise angle makes a lot of sense

You can get some guy in china to make an exact replica and sell it for 2-3x at a venue like that . Makes sense and probably some decent coin.

These guys in philly are a peculiar bunch. I cant imagine ny guys from the genovese crew selling t-shirts in a parking lot of a mets game. That is just plain weird.

But I can imagine guys from the Colombos, Bonannos, or Lucheses doing something like this.

The s philly real estate market was just ranked as #2 in the US as the hottest in the nation and I wonder if these knuckleheads are going to be able to profit from this in the future....I know that niccodemo and his people have/had some properties in the area, no clue on that right now...it will interesting to see the information that comes out in the upcoming trial

I have to say that's one thing that they do have an ear to the ground for. Many of them are blue collar guys ,they are in the trades and do keep and eye for that stuff. many do the rehab and flipping to make money. (and the other flipping also )

There is huge development going on in center city too with the gallery mall and whatever they are going to do there, and it doesnt seem clear who will be getting the jobs for all that, and thatw ill be a cash cow for the unions and the money men behind it, so that may be another area

Sorry not to be rude.. Almost everyone has this freakin fantasy that the mob gets money from the union.. no.. no.. I think people aren't thinking sometimes.. it aint the 70's... Now the contractors who have the jobs are making the money.. ok not the mob guys... and therefore it trickles down for the men working on the sites.. like me I am in that area I will just say.. and there I receive a pay check at the end of the week for the work that I do.. ok.. not some mob kid

Marine, maybe the mob is not hands on with the unions anymore per se but the same thing is going on in Philly and they have to run in the same circles as mob associates or made members

Agree 100%. I don't think John Dougherty, or Ed Coryell, or the Dougherty from the iron workers, which is now being run by STATE SENATE LEADER Sweeney check in with goombah johnny in south philly for anything.

And yes, I know the one of the ligambi's is in the Electricians union local 98. So are 4000 other guys and girls. He's an honest kid working everyday. No nonsense going on there.

There are a few developers in the Philly; maybe 5 heavyweights. And none of them are being extorted. The way the building economy is in philadelphia, EVERY worker in the union and Every politician in the city, and every investigator would do EVERYTHING in their power to make sure no one harms their work.

I've said it a bunch on here. You can't compare Philly to NYC, in terms of development. NYC is the biggest, richest city in the world. Real estate prices are always at a premium. It is recession proof. IN 2008, when the market busted, A ton of blue collar guys in Philly were sitting for almost 2 years because the Developers didn't want to "risk" the success of the project, while NYC kept developing. TRUST ME, I Work in it and not in the unions.

Nicky, ever since Nick The Crow tried his million dollar extortion of penns landing projects and he was told on to the FBI and you both are correct as far as the degree of the mob involvement in philly unions after that indictment and marine being in a union in philly would know better than most whether there are still anyone as uncle joe was involved in no show jobs through various unions anymore, but as the feds seem to want to totally throw the philly mafia away its probably close to ZERO......but there are tons of huge business real estate projects going on in philly in the next few years

Not for nothing but Nick C pushed to hard and tried to put that shit on Nick sr.You can not go from 10,000 scams to scamming the biggest developers in the country.(come on)
And who knows if what he said Nick was doing to him may be bull..
But he is and was a good talker ,and he could "sell" you your own "shoes" .Did not read his book but you can bet he sold most that did read it (thats how good he is)and it sounds like most fell for it.

Sorry for getting off topic .

I stated this in the food forum the other day but will put it here as well- Phil Narducci owns Philip's Steaks in South Philly , which in my opinion is the best Cheesesteak in Philly for a real South Philly experience that the tourists stay away from. I highly recommend going there for your Cheesesteak in Philly.
