Just got done reading this last night. I thought it was a very good read.
Great insight to the before during and after of the Appalaccian meeting. There was a lot of information in there that I did not know about the summit and some of the attendees.

yes, I read it, the author researched it very well. I thought it was a good read, it explains why crosswell came upon the meet.

he had been watching Barbara for years. by the way Barbara died shortly after the meet of a heart attack.

I always thought it was Magadino who hosted that meet.

If I remember correctly I think Maggadino was co hosting.

Well, looks like I am adding another book to my list, I will have to check this out, sounds good.

Yes I agree it was researched very well. I think that was one of the most interesting times during mafia history. It was such a turning point for LCN.

Very good read though. I definitely recommend it.

I was looking at one of the photos in the book and they say it's tommy Luchesse but does not look like him at all.

I have to try and get the picture but didn't no if anyone saw it and know what I'm talking about.

phillymob, yes, it was a major turning point in the mob, that little freak, [j. edgar hoover] could no longer say that the mob did not exist.

Wondering if anyone has the book. On page 149 they have a picture of joe Bonanno and joe profaci. On the bottom it says tommy Luchesse but if doesn't look like him at all. I no sometimes they mess up.
Can anyone shed light on this for me.
