yes,in the 2000s only the 5 families maintain part of the power had in the past. But out NY there were new making ceremonies after 2000?
Maybe small families as pittsburgh or kansas city doesn't have a recruitment pool as NY, the old guards doesn't find no young to made ?

I know that is a difficult question.

The Bonannos had ceremonies in 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2008. No doubt more since then.

The Colombos in 2000, 2004, 2007, 2009, and 2011. No doubt more since then.

The Luccheses in 2000/1, 2003, 2005, and 2007. No doubt more since then.

The Gambinos in 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. No doubt more since then.

The Genovese in 2000, 2003, 2006, and 2009. No doubt more since then.

I think it's probably a safe bet the NY families have one or more ceremonies every year. The years listed above are specific ones that have been cited though.

The DeCavalcantes supposedly made 12 new members between 2001 and 2006. Not sure about after that.

Philadelphia in 2005, 2007 and 2011 - at least 10 new members have been made over that time.

New England in 2002 and possibly 2006. Not sure about after that.

Ivy, d'you happen to have a source for any of these? I'm not doubting your info just thought they'd be pretty interesting to read, cheers!

Philadelphia's sentencing memos all give dates and people inducted. The thread is below

Should probably ask Mr. Kierney. I guess if you're Italian, you should be in prison.
I've read the RICO Act, and I can tell you it's more appropriate...
for some of those guys over in Washington than it is for me or any of my fellas here

I wish I could find the article, I think it was in the NY times, maybe something on Mancuso and the leadership. Anyway this 'source' was saying how at least 10 new members were inducted in the last couple of years to the Bonnano's.

The years are from a poster who has compiled them over time. Just whenever new info has come out in articles, court testimony, etc. about a ceremony being held. I could ask him but it would probably take some effort to go back through and identify each source. The Philadelphia dates, as well as those made, which was a topic of discussion in another thread are also from him so you can see they are not made up or anything.

I think it's also a safe bet that Chicago has had several making ceremonies. It's believed that Marcello had one and that Sarno did later, but why not more recently too? Every so many years they have resupply themselves with fresh blood to avoid disintegrating.

Thanks Ivy but I wanted to know, if possible, the making ceremonies of the families outside NY that had been since 2000, even in those families as Pittsburgh, Cleveland, New Orleans, etc. or if it already become extinct because there is not a criminal with the italian surname to replace the old guard.

Well, in the case of Pittsburgh, the NY families supposedly put a freeze on them making new members years ago and that was never lifted. Not that there is much left to replenish the family now. The same could be said for Cleveland, New Orleans, and other cities where there are only a handful of members left at most. They seem content to be the last and have no desire to try and carry on the family. Or at least lack of the resources and recruiting pool to do so.
