Scott is a journalist. He knows how to research and quickly pick things out. I AM NOT SAYING others dont. What I should have said was that those sentencing summaries have 1 section in them, I think it's the background, that present the wiretap info, crimes, etc. THe rest of the stuff is the DA trying to back up their sentencing recommendations with historical cases. I'm not a lawyer so I don't know the technical term.

Bottom line, I should have said that Scott took the important parts out and summarized them for all of us. Instead of going through every document, you can know read his article and get the good details from the sentencing documents. That's how he did us a favor.

I apologize for the context in which I originally made my statement. After I saw was LALOU wrote, I picked right up on how my post could be taken either way. I meant it one way but wrote it wrong.

If i was a betting man, i would bet heavy that Merlino wants to stay in Florida, hang at his restaurant, and let the guys in Philly run Philly. I would imagine Merlino told whomever is now in charge that he just wants an envelope each month and MAYBE serve as some sort of advisor if ever needed.. I just dont see him getting involved. He will keep himself insulated and make sure he cannot get dragged into any conspiracy. Just my 2 cents.

Merlino is definitely still getting his envelopes, and we know he's still the boss, at the end of the day. How much he's involved though, is debatable. I think he keeps the title and stays in Florida but will let his guy Stevie run things in Philly.

What are you talking about? "Called out", I wouldn't call whatever ItalianForever being "called out". As mentioned, Scott's a respected researcher and author in this field, he's privy to an assortment of characters that none of us have access to, and thus is also privy to loads of information. Scott's been nothing but an extreme help to the many of us Mafia enthusiasts who like learning about these things and reading up on the recent activities of various families all over the country.


I just think the guys who claim to be "in the know" or "friends of a guy who's friends of a cousin of the brother of a made guy" and got the "word on the street" get upset when Scott presents well researched information that conflicts with the bull they post, thus it becoming evident that they have no idea as to the accuracy of the things they say. Like someone mentioned, that "TheArm" guy said so much bullcrap on here, and people actually believed him to the point where they'd be lining up to ask questions in some of his threads, meanwhile, the guy didn't know John Gotti from Armand Assante.
