Gaeton Lucibello looks more like a chav Millwall fan than a high ranking mobster.

"Oi mate. Gimme a can of Stella. Let's go to The Den and kick the Charlton fans facking heads in".

I invoke my right under the 5th amendment of the United States constitution and decline to answer the question.

If he ever decides to move back to Philly he better get someone for his left hand also.
Joey has not walked around Philly or even drove around in many years.
The numbers and the loyalty have seamed to come back to the old guard.(and is gaining more and more)

Cackling like a banty Rooster.

Scott I saw your article with all the quotes from mausie and battaglini. Interesting they came from the sentencing memos that little Nicky posted here a few days ago....

noticed the same thing, italian. pretty funny.

Should probably ask Mr. Kierney. I guess if you're Italian, you should be in prison.
I've read the RICO Act, and I can tell you it's more appropriate...
for some of those guys over in Washington than it is for me or any of my fellas here

It isn't like he claims any of the quotes as his own sources but, good eye.

I didn't consider that an article, simply a few excerpts from the sentencing memos which Little Nicky posted. And your point is what?

Should I have sourced the memos being posted by "Little Nicky on the Gangster BB forum"....I'm serious, if you think I should have, tell me and I'll go back in and attribute that you posted the sentencing memos here

Scott

It seems that there is a contingent on the internet, besides the ones that don't like what I write about Detroit, that have issues with me writing about Philly. Thoughts?

Scott- I honestly thought the same thing going back to the Chickie Ciancaglini article. I find your articles on Philly and the website in general to be great, informative, interesting and insightful. For the vast majority of the things that you write, I feel that it is generally pretty on point. Of course there will be speculative parts of your articles being that anyone writing about the Philly Mob has to speculate to a certain point unless you are quoting a direct source/member of the mob. I want to discourage anyone on these boards from being so cynical and critical of these writings because I don't want Scott to be discouraged from writing pieces on Philly especially since he is one of the only ones outside of Dave S and George A to be writing anything of substance on Philly. I would encourage people to be "devil's advocates" or whatever you want to call it for the sake of debate and conversation, but to simply call Scott out for no reason anytime he comes out with something is simply unproductive and not necessary. So in short, Scott, please don't be discouraged by people that appear to have a problem about your articles and please continue to publish on Philly!

Secondly, I wanted to point out that Ray Wagner's father owns Cookie's Tavern on Oregon Ave. This incidently is a big hangout apparently for 10th & O guys as well as mob/connected guys. Sort of an interesting connection. I didn't realize Ray Wags was also a bookmaker, but I did know that Eddie Wags was involved ('08 bust). I wonder how far Ray Wags go in terms of activity within the Merlino crew? I never really knew much about him or saw anything about him until post-Merlino Crew getting sentenced in 2001 and of course his recent role as "bag man" and "body guard". Before this article I sort of just thought of him as close friend bordering "hanger-on"...

Lou's Crab Bar is history and the restaurant / bar is gone. Cookies is a rough crowd down on Oregon but they blow it out for the Marines birthday party. Funny Monday Night Football this year during the Eagles game they showed a quick clip and Cookies made a quick appearance.

Don't be discouraged Scott. It's just a few heads on this forum with something to say, I really haven't seen much of what happens here in regards to your articles on other forums.

Speaking of Philly though, what exactly are the 10th & O guys? I've read they're just a drug gang or something, but I always figured they were Mob guys as well, or at least 10th & O guys became Mob guys, now everywhere I read there's a distinguished difference between the two, I even remember reading that 10th & O guys were butting heads with the made guys in Philly. Are they affiliated or is 10th & O something of it's own entity? Kind of gets me thinking about that shitty movie and with the guy from Remember The Titans, and they go to war with the Sicilians.

I would never stop my reporting because of a vocal minority of "haters" that just seem to want to nitpick everything I do. That said I would never discourage anyone from speaking their mind, either. I guess I have trouble understanding why some people view me as some yahoo in my basement spewing lies and propaganda, when my resume points to the opposite. I shouldn't let it bother me, but it obviously does or I wouldn't post responses.

Thanks for the support, guys.

I wasn't trying to pull a fast one or anything with the Philly mob quotes: Little Nicky posted the memos, I read them, figured not everybody interested in Philly LCN reads this forum and if they do, wont necc want to read the whole thing, so I pulled out some highlights and posted them on my site. I wasn't trying to purport I had some scoop or anything.

Scott,

You gotta realize half the guys that come on this site claim to be "in the know" or claim to be "from the neighborhood" which in their view means they know more than you. Couldn't be further from the truth.

They use that defense to post their views and opinions. When an educated writer as yourself does his homework and writes an article that doesn't jive with their "inside neighboorhood wiki knowledge", you ruffle their parrot feathers. lol

You are an accredited author, the only thing they could possibly say to you is to claim to "be in the know". Keep up the good work man!

Just to echo LaLouisiane's comments, we are really lucky to have a legit author like Scott sharing his research on these boards. I know it's easier said than done, Scott, but try to ignore the haters. Regards.

Scott, bottom line, there are people in this world who actually think that 9/11 and the Marathon bombings were part of a government conspiracy. You can have all the legitimate facts and support on your side and it's not gonna matter to them. Please keep posting.

And let's be honest. Scott just took the good parts of those sentencing memos that any one of us were looking for and summarized them.

You should be thanking him for doing you a favor and making you read less. Ungratefuls. Santa Claus don't like that shit.

Nicky, come on man, really? Your bashing a guy for no reason because he's stating through an article what he feels is going on based off of people he has spoken with. Our opinions are all equal (To an extent).

We are talking about the mafia, not politics. So what if he's right and your wrong about the menial rank or importance of one individual? Or vice versa? Let's say he's wrong (Don't take that the wrong way Scott), are you gonna tell your grand children that one time on GBB forum you proved a guy wrong? You know how that conversation is gonna go?

"Come here little Johnny, let me tell ya bout that one time back in the 2010's when I got myself into a bar fight of epic proportions on GBB. Guy from yonder said that so and so was a soldier. I said "Listen here fella, I'm not havin' none of that there nonsense today the guy is a damn associate!" And guess what? He was an associate. It was like a knockout punch young'un, one of them one and dones"

".....Grandpa, what's the mafia?"

I understand guys losing their cool on the politics and current affair threads in the general discussion area, but this is kinda dumb. We are lucky enough to have a guy that has proven himself, authored books on the mob, and STILL give up his time to post articles he writes on here.

Yet when a guy like The Arm was here before he or she was proved wrong, guys were lining up to ask questions and get autographs rolleyes

"What are you cacklin' hens cluckin' about?!?!"

"Is that him?!? With the sombrero on?!?"
