"State law allows for up to three casinos and one slots parlor. This year, the commission awarded licenses to MGM in Springfield, Wynn Resorts in Everett, and Penn National Gaming for a slots complex in Plainville.

If the commission goes ahead with granting a third license and the Mashpees end up clearing the federal hurdles to opening a casino, our nascent gambling empire could fold like a house of cards.

Even this pro-casino columnist is starting to worry about oversaturation, with the potential for a fourth casino in Massachusetts and yet another one just over the border in Connecticut as that state desperately tries to hang onto its high rollers and slot players by building a new gambling playground."

So my point is this: Will this casino boom give new life to the mobs in Bostom, Providence, Springfield, Connecticut & NY?

I don't know about giving "new life" but some of them are bound to take advantage. there has already been one case involving the NE mob in these casino deals. the names in this case should be pretty familiar.-

the Genovese are kicking them shelves in the ass for killing Bruno in springfield and all the fall out from it. that guy would have been + them bosses super rich, fuck the other 30 patriarcas in the state, him and his 8 made guys would have been rich and no one would have touched that downtown shit hole springfield aka Camden nj.

Boston Globe has an article on the Revere and the Everett casino this morning. This is my first post. I've been following this blog for years. I have always been impressed with the Massachusetts content on this site.

I have no comment other than this is an extremely well known serious guy and I cannot believe he mentioned as a political type opponent.

Thanks to Pizzaboy for all his posts and shared knowledge.

If the casinos have good oversight, I don't think the mob will have any more success exploiting them than they have elsewhere I recent times.

I kinda said it up top the Springfield crew is kinda in limbo but if NY didn't kill big al with the NYC union clout and construction shit they would have had a hand in the mgm casino poping up in downtown as we speak and there doing it big like Vegas style there trying to get the Hartford north money from foxwoods an Mohegan. It will still get corrupted some how its mass. but that political cluster fuck going up in the north of Boston probaly won't happen till who knows Wynn suing Boston Marty Walsh is suing wynn +revere and the mob guys own the land now the feds are trying to pry it from there hands saying its fraud its nuts./

The feds dropped the mayors name in the teamster indictment for shaking down food network TV show. Just put his name in all the papers cause he worked with the local somehow. The more shit changes the more it stays the same.
